Having info from Scott [thank you, Scott] that explosive tattoo in Salisbury was the best around, i checked tham out online and, sure enough, they had the bestest and greatest artist Jess and i have seen in the months we've been looking. Her name is Deirdre, and we may name a child after her. She does color on peoples' bodies like other folks do on paper or canvas.
The brightness, the shading, the variety of hues...damn!
She's got a prince and princess kissing that says "Kristina" all over it. here's a link

When we called them up we found she works out of their New Castle [DE] store, so...FIELD TRIP! and so it was that we went last friday, up to Deladamnware, yea, even unto Newcastle, to meet the artist formerly known as an art student [has her degree and everything] to consult about my tattoos. Her co-workers were an absolute, abject, trip, hoot, whoot, and kick in the ass...one uptight squirrely little white guy who did the money and computers while grooving on out to whatever wide variety of tunes he was playing, being sir mixalot and shit, and a loudmouthed, foulmouthed, tactless, rude, crude, boisterous, scary, in your face, socially and asocially unacceptable sweety-pie if you ever got to talk for longer than the bluster lasted tattoo artist and earspool collector. had "RUDE" tattooed above his collarbone under his neck in three inch letters. truth in advertising.
so i showed her the small picks of what i wanted that ya'll have seen and she started drawing and redrawing. her coworkers would circle around behind her every so often and say something about "an ANCHOR?!? why are ya drawin uh goddam anchor? just throw any one on there." but this being my body, and being sure this is the one i wanted, having gotten used to it for months since Jess found it so i knew i had liked it for a while and this is permenant, and Jess did find it for me and liked it, and we have a thing, and well...i wanted THIS anchor.
Deirdre understood. She drew and redrew until she was comfy, and we talked color and looked at color in other works.
after 2 and a half hours, she started to tattoo. anchor first. took about 40 minutes. she and jess and i had a ball...talkin, laughin...i had to remember to stay still. rest break...deirdre had lunch...i munched...a bit to nervous to actually eat.
then the moose. by the time that was done, around 6pm, i was about done too. enough. felt ok, but has been like a bad sunburn in a very small area.
jess was/has been sooooooo kind to spend a day like that with me and hep after. she took the pics i hope this will show you. thanks, sweetie. i love you.
deirdre is a god.
