I am... not Nana's biological father. As a diclonius, she was supposed to be killed at birth, but instead she was brought to the research facility where I work. I cared for her there, which is why she thinks of me as her father.

I know that should cause you not to trust me, but I mean it when I say I do not intend to bring her back there. I do not want her to go back to that.

Honestly, I don't trust you anyway. Not after finding Nana limbless in a cardboard box in some nameless park on her own, living off bread crumbs and keeping company with malnourished street cats.

I wouldn't call that a good job of looking after her. I'm not exactly eager to let Nana leave with you. If you're not really her father, I have no reason to besides her wanting to see you so badly.

The leader of the facility ordered me to kill her after she failed to bring down Lucy. Instead, I faked the death and helped her escape. If I were to go looking for her, they would have eventually found out about it and killed her themselves.

Believe me, I would've taken her off the streets much sooner if I had been able to. The last thing I want is for her to be hurt like she was in that facility.

I'm sure there's something you could've done. If you want something badly enough, do what you have to and take risks for it. Excuse me if I'm simply coming off as rude, but I'm being honest.

What makes coming to get her now so different from not being able to get her before? She's in London now. That's a lot farther than the park.
