HCL and some BSG rant once again

Dear Dairy,

I'm finishing my HCL fic!hunting and it was long due. I even went and started to obtain the movie though not only I know how it ends I also hate punk music and lifestyle [I, too hate some things I don't understand, and by gods I don't get punk at all.] and will have to watch majority of the show on mute but what-the-hell. I'm in love.

I wanted to lie and write that characters are fascinating but really I just want to see for myself if Billy and Joe are as gay for each other as some of the fandom seems to think. Seemed to think? I need to investigate further. Newest fic I saw to date was of 2009 and that mens someone out there still cares. Which is great.

Actually I'm a bit perplexed here. Happy ending i one of my must-be. First fic I read in this fandom, great beyond all believe, is a fucking death-fic. And it is a canonical character death, not optional but used. WTF?

Fandom is kind of awesome. There is a lot of fics [More than I thought there would be] gathered in one, very coherent, me-friendly archive and reced all over the place if you know where to look.

Also... I have gone into RPS of this movie for the strangest reason to date and that is: "Because Kara/Leoben is not a pairing and this scene with white paint was just insulting and destroyed a great potential." What it got to do with Hugh Dillon/Callum Keith Rennie RPS? I don't know. But I like the second guy's acting and have no clue who the fist one is so Fuck It principle once again overrode my fic!huntings ethics. Why do I even bother with them anyway?

I can rant long and hard about BSG being one great, big disappointment but I won't and concentrate on just this one example:
Show insinuated that Kara and this blond Cylon share some kind of a bond. That there was something there that will matter at some point. I had a head full of theories by the end of the torture episode. Then of course whole show went to the deepest shit and there was this... weird scene where blond Cylon was in charge of Kara, and for quite some time it would appear, and he... tried to play "house" with her? Kind of. I think. And I was again enamored, for few short minutes. Before things went sexual.
This was the shallowest, most flat and boring explanation for the fucked-up fascination they shared and however hot the scene was, because I must admit it was one of the hottest I've seen, whole thing should never happen. He did not want to bang her. Granted it was not about banging her even then, but still. Wasted potential for something epically awesome pains me. Not as much as Gaius Balthar pained me but still.
