Jason had been surprised they even managed to pull the 'double date' off. Actually, the thing he had been surprised about was that Tim agreed to come, but it probably helped that the word 'date' hadn't even come into the equation. Burgers and milkshakes with maybe a movie afterwards. The atmosphere had been a little awkward at first because Tim was still emitting a slight air of irritation aimed in Jason and Sam's direction, but once beer was on the menu, he finally started to loosen up.
Then there was the fact that Jason and Taylor had shared quite a lengthy and intense kiss the afternoon before and neither had mentioned it since, let alone told Tim or Sam about it. He reached for the salt shaker at the same time she did and their hands connected, causing them both to freeze.
