[Follows THIS and THIS]Jason knew the sound of that truck anywhere, yet he didn't move from where he had taken residence in his bed with the covers over his head. Luckily the front door was unlocked. They could either figure out to come in themselves or stand out there until he was ready to get the door... probably in, say, a decade. His chair was ( Read more... )

Tim jumped out of the truck, stretching and yawning before he even shut the door behind him. Almost two days on the road took it's toll even on a stocky football player like him. He glanced around the street and the front lawn of Jason's place with a slight nod. "Not bad," he commented with his Texas drawl. The last he was here in Jersey it was to drop Six off, so it was well before Jason set himself up with a place to live. He hadn't jumped the gun too much in case Erin was going to tell him to fuck off. Now, it seemed, that could still be on the cards after everything Jason had done to ensure the chick was provided for and had the support she needed. This was why Tim didn't do committment. "Truck's there. He must be home. D'ya think he's gettin' laid?"

Sam was having a good stretch herself, and trying to fight off the massive yawn building. As much as she'd wanted to sleep in the truck, it hadn't worked. Not until the last couple of hours when she'd fallen asleep on Tim's shoulder. She hoped she hadn't drooled. Sam laughed as she pushed Tim in the chest. "Not everyone's you, darlin'. Plus I don't see her car. 'Less J picked her up."

Jason wondered if it was too late to tell them not to come. He didn't want company. He didn't want to see anyone and as he heard the voices in his drive, he wanted to roll over and bury even further under the covers but rolling over was even going to take took much effort. He reached out from under the quilt to blindly grab another few tissues from the nearby box but he knocked it on the floor. Great. What else was going to fuck up for him?

"She might've parked up the road. Don't know her car anyway. Probably a Merc of somethin'. Six seems to think she's in that class." Tim slammed the car door closed and didn't bother locking it. You could take the boy out of Texas...

He went sauntered up the ramp and banged loudly on the front door. "Oi, Six! Open up, dude! I need beer!"

"Why would she park up the road? Think she's embarrassed to be with J?" Sam crinkled her nose as she gave that idea some consideration. She couldn't imagine anyone being embarrassed to be with Jason. And if they were, she didn't want to know them.

Sam nudged Tim out of the way and just opened the front door. "All class, T."

There was no beer. Tim would just have to deal with it. There was vodka, however, though it was distinctly less than a full bottle now. Jason hadn't even managed to stop the tears after Erin left with Noah, probably for the last time, when he was trying to get extensively drunk. All it did was make him puke extensively, which was a whole other failure in itself. It wasn't like a cripple could run to the toilet, was it? It was enough to turn him off tackling the rest of the bottle, though. Thank god for small fortunes.

Tim just shot Sam a frown at her suspicions. "She better fuckin' not be. J's nothin' to be ashamed of. The bitch. I hate her already," he decided, quite clearly prematurely before they knew anything beyond her name.

But the words died on his lips and the frowned deepened when the door opened. He pushed past Sam to go up the hall, looking in the doorways. There was a living room and the kitchen. "J?" he called.

"You still don't know she's actually here," Sam reminded him softly. "She's probably ain't. Not if Erin's been here."

Sam followed Tim, and shut the door behind them. She was pretty impressed with Jason's place. He was the first friend she knew to have his own place. Tim didn't really count even if it was just him and Billy in their house. She soon caught up with Tim and frowned as she waited for J to call out again. "Bedroom?" she mouthed to Tim.

Jason sighed, remaining firmly planted under the covers. "M'here," he attempted to call but it came out in sort of a hoarse growl. "And there's a pub two blocks from here. Go get drunk. I don't want visitors."

A voice. That was a start. It sounded sort of like Six, so that was enough for Tim. He veered left and pushed the bedroom door open, finding a bed with a large lump. Lucky the wheelchair was there or he would start to wonder if they even had the right place. His eyes skimmed over the mess in the room and Tim's chick radar spotted a pair of silk purple panties near the foot of the bed. He smirked widely. "Please tell me you're under there alone, J Six," he sniggered. "Or if not, let me watch."

"And give me fair warning to walk out," Sam added as she waited by the door to see if Jason was alone. Still, she couldn't help but grin at the sight of the purple panties. "And for the record we're here for you, not to get drunk. Ignore T."

"Thanks, but I really just want to be alone," Jason mumbled from under the cover. "In other words, I am alone and want that to continue."

Tim shared a glance with Sam. This wasn't the welcome he was exactly expecting. In fact, for the last fifty miles, he had been tasting the beer he would share with his best mate. He was never backwards in coming forward, though. He strode over to the bed and dragged the covers down to reveal Jason lying on his side and looking what one could only describe as utter shit. "J? You sick, dude?" He crouched down beside the bed so he could be at Jason's eye level. "Is this about Erin?" he asked, not entirely confident Jason would even answer him.

Sam came into the bedroom and got down on her knees beside Tim. She rest her head on his shoulder to make it easier for her to see Jason's face. "'Course it's about Erin. It's all today's been about 'cept for purple panties which I'm assumin' ain't hers." She reached out to touch her fingers to Jason's hand. "We ain't goin' anywhere, J. Even if I'm the one that has to go get T beer... we're stayin'."

Jason looked at them, holding his resolve for no more than twenty seconds before he held his hand up to them and buried his face into the pillow, the tears coming in another flooding rush, albeit a silent one.

Okay, this wasn't the sort of thing Tim was equipped for at all. He looked at Sam again, then back to Jason. "Hey... Six... tell us what happened, man. Maybe we can help or somethin'?" he tried and rested a hand on Jason's arm.
