You get out of practice after awhile if you don't post. Also if you don't talk. Sometimes I feel like my adult vocabulary has gone into a latent state where it will hibernate until I truly require it again. I know big words, I swear!
Just wanted to post today on principle. All I have to say is that everything is still going really well. The azaleas are blooming and bunnies are hopping around and we're eating delicious foods. I've been very savvy in the kitch lately. Sage took his first step Easter Sunday at my grandparents' house. His physical growth has slowed down, but it still shocks me every time he gains a pound or a skill. His hair is getting very long and I've yet to buy terry cloth sweatbands to hold it out of his eyes. He says "What's that?" and "tickle tickle tickle" and "thank you" among other things. Brian celebrated his birthday earlier this month very low key. He got is first power drill. He's sporting a mohawk and working a lot of overtime so that we can have funtimes on our first family vacation next month. We've got a cabin in the mountains booked with some friends and aim to hike all our cares away. I need a new haircut like crazy. My hair is ridiculous and I hope I don't see anyone else until it's properly styled. I'm going to be buying my first bathing suit in a hundred years soon, so that's kind of exciting for me too. Will probably be joining the Y at East Lake also, so watch out.
All in all the family is very happy. It's going to be a fun summer. I meant what I said about the bunnies too. There's a warren on the side of the house in some bushes. The only bad thing about it is that Napoleana (the indoor/outdoor cat we're boarding for my dad) has been capturing and decapitating bunny kittens and leaving them for us on the door step. In fact this was the second Easter in my life where a rabbit was killed right before seasonal celebrations (the first time being a roadkill incident on the interstate en route to Augusta). There's still a pool of bunny blood I have to clean up on the porch before my mom returns from Kentucky tonight.
On that appetizing note, it's time to try to feed my little man again. He'll put everything in his mouth but the food on his plate. Somehow he still thrives. I hope he gets to meet more of you soon. He had a really banging first birthday party at the end of last month. I couldn't believe how crowded it was. I can't believe he's 13 months old. I can't believe how many responsibilities of mine I'm ignoring by continuing to elaborate on this post.
happiness,
