003 ☆ Dream

Warnings: None? Unless you have a thing against school girls and les yay undertones.
Effects: A sense of loneliness, as well as a fear of being replaced.

She's walking right behind them, but she might as well be alone. Even though Mato is talking cheerfully in front of her about something having to do with the basketball club, Yomi isn't part of the conversation at all. It's a conversation between Mato and Yuu and not Yomi--not Yomi at all, because Yomi is walking three steps behind them and only tagging along because it would be odd for her to do otherwise. It's only natural for her to walk home with her best friend, right?

But she's just following her best friend back home, not walking with her. Was there any difference between now and what she used to have in the last country she lived in? Not really, so she shouldn't care so much. But she does.

The school bell rings. It's lunch hour and Mato didn't come to visit her in her own classroom as she usually would. In fact, Mato hasn't come to her classroom in a few days--a few weeks, maybe, even though at the start of the year she would be there before Yomi even registered it was lunch hour. She knows where she would be without even having to think about it, of course, and that makes her feel a little bit lonely.

She sees Mato in her respective classroom, sitting with her legs drawn up on her desk while chatting the hour away with Yuu. She looked happy, happier than she had seen her in a while, and she hadn't needed her there to feel that way. Yuu was a better best friend than she was, of course, she had more things in common with Mato than Yomi ever could. But could Yomi really consider herself Mato's best friend these days? Who knows.

She hesitates. She wonders if she should interrupt them or not, before simply sighing and choosing to enter the classroom regardless.

There's a small nod of acknowledgment from her friends. A small wave and they glance at her as she takes a seat in the desk next to them, just before going back to the topic at hand, leaving Yomi to quietly listen into their conversation and having nothing at all to say.

[When the dream ends, Yomi simply opens her eyes and stares up at the ceiling for a few moments. It takes her a couple of seconds, but slowly, she rolls over onto her side in order to face the night stand where she had placed her Dreamberry, looking somewhat upset.]

...Ah. That was recorded, wasn't it?

oh pessimist, ☁ ic, where's your mato now, ☂ dream, dead master get out
