All my tutorials

Most recent icon post here though it's a huge dump of ones I've had on my comp for quite a while.

I have to say, my favourite of your tutorials are the ones for the light textures and the lost header one but they are all great. Thank you for applying and posting access is whizzing your way as well as an invite to itutwriters. :)

kniticons is where I keep my tutorials and icons. The tutorials are here, but my favorites are this one and this one.
I try to use as many visual aids as possible, and when appropriate, to explain why I made a change or the effect I was trying to approximate.
Of my icons, I particularly like

To be perfectly honest, I'm very very conflicted on your application. The tutorials you have written are very well done, very easy to follow and the explanations for what you do and why are great. We don't have any gimp tutorial writers here so it would be great to have you. On the other hand, there isn't consistency with the quality of the icons in the tutorials you have written. For example, the two you linked as your favourites are two very different tutorials - both very well written but as well as quality writing we want to see a quality 'product' so to speak - the end result. The 'oh my' icon is much nicer (I love it actually) then the Sisko icon. I think the Sisko icon would be better without the cartooned layer but that is really my opinion ( ... )

I've noticed the same inconsistency with my output, too. Some of the icons I really liked in the past don't look as good now, and so forth.
But I shall keep writing and working, and I'll reapply when I'm done with this semester. Thanks for the input!

Hi! Thanks for applying!

I'm going to have to say no for now because I find that there can be some confusion in your tutorials. I really like your use of screenshots in the first one you linked to and was disappointed to see that they weren't there in the other two tutorials. Granted this community isn't strictly for beginners but if you've watched the community you will see that there is either some explanations included with the steps or screencaps to show where in the program we are. Your tutorials are fine as they are, don't get me wrong, but I kind of feel that it would be good to have the first tutorial open while looking at the second and third - so I can see WHERE you are clicking to get to those menu options. I hope that makes sense. :\

If you feel like reapplying later, please do so because the icons you created were very nice.

Thanks for the advice :)
I'm not very experienced at making tutorials and it's always good to know what to do to improve them.
Will definitely come back :)

Hi! Thanks for applying!

I'm going to have to say no for now. Your tutorials are easy to read and easy to follow which is good but I am looking for tutorials that have a bit more to them - what I mean by this is a bit more of why you did the step you did rather than doing something else. Even something as simple as "I set this layer to color dodge to brighten the icon". All that said, should you decide to include that sort of thing in future tutorials, you are welcome to apply again. :)
