Lord, it has been a busy last few days. Movie World on Saturday. Maleny on Sunday. Coldplay on Monday.
Coldplay were amazing, and
the saga had a relatively happy ending.
Guiltyshu and I got there early and had a blast. We were right on the barrier next to one of the side platforms and were at several points within touching reach of the entire band. I could see the sweat spraying off Mr Martin as he shook his head in the glare of the bright spotlights and when he played the piano I could hear his foot tapping on the pedals.
I popped giant yellow balloons filled with confetti when they played Yellow, and I caught paper butterflies that fell from the ceiling and rained down on the audience during Lovers in Japan. I could see the dust flying off the bell when Will Champion was banging in in Viva La Vida.
I sang along to every song, and didn't lose my voice. I got myself a shirt at the end, and am wearing it with pride now. One of the most amazing things for me was that at the end, when the audience was cheering for an encore, the entire audience started singing the chorus to Viva La Vida when the unmelodious chant of "ENCORE, ENCORE" had died down. It was pretty inspiring.
I will see them again, I am sure of it. Photos will come, when I get them off my phone.
