I've been reading Possession by A. S. Byatt and it's inspired me to really really think about what my opinions are on the value of literature, whether writing is art, novels, poetry, and all sorts of arty-farty, high-fallutin' thinking that is probably not ponderings best suited to my morning bus ride. Or perhaps it is perfectly suited. Either way, I feel like I'm going to need to write out my thoughts, and I don't feel like I'll do them justice if I try and write them down succinctly now when I plan on going to sleep early.
So look out for a post sometime in the next few days. This post is going to keep me honest. Or something. I really want to have a srs discussion about this sort of thing with someone. Is this a sign I miss Uni? Only three or so weeks until I go back and already I'm jonesing for a decent argument about books written by old farts centuries before my Grandparents were born. I will write something out. And it'll be thought-out and hopefully a little comprehensive. There may even be footnotes.
In the meantime. Words do not express exactly how much
I want this book. Seriously. The dictionary does not contain the words that adequately express the exact cocktail of awe, excitement, disgust, fear, undulation, joy, amazement, desire and pure unadulterated lust that I feel for the concept of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
In other, Pride and Prejudice related news. Marvel Comics are also releasing a Pride and Prejudice comic in the next few months as part of their Marvel Illustrated collection. I find I already told my boss today that if he did not order me a copy I would probably cry.
Also. Saw Ghost World today. It's pretty awesome. You should all see it too.
