Today is a SUPER fucking fantastic friday :D
It's a week of videos for this fucking fantastic Friday, but that doesn't make them any less awesome.
♥ The Watchmen trailer. I liked the comic book. This trailer looks visually stunning, but then it's done by the bloke from 300. It has that sort of gothicky-noir feel, yet still manages to look so sleek and awesome. Dr Manhattan and The Comedian both look amazing. Rorschach too. I am most excited for it. Ladies. Gentlemen. March 5th. Save the date.
♥ Second video of the week is Dr Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog. It was made by Joss Whedon and his brother during the writer's strike to prove to people that it was possible to make money of internet revenue. The third part should be posted later today (or Friday for Americans) and I'm very much looking forward to it. Once they're all posted they're eventually going to be released DVD style, and I will pick that up so fast you wouldn't want to blink. But honestly. Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion in a musical about Superheroes and Evil Geniuses? How is that not awesome?
♥ I don't really read much Batman comics, but I enjoyed the film a great deal and when I was driving Amy home, we ended up talking about this while we were in the car. Suffice to say, I very much enjoyed Jim Gordon in the movie. I'd recommend everyone see the movie if I didn't know they were all gonna go see it anyway. I still think I enjoyed Iron Man better, personally, but then I've always been happier about movies that... are happier, than movies that are as dark as TDK is.
Actually on second look-- this Friday's theme seems to be superheroes, so in honour of that: if you could have a super-power, what would it be? And I want it to be cool and well thought out. I don't want anyone saying "I want to be able to fly :D" cos that's such a cop-out. I want things like... My super-hero power would be to be able to make anything I read in a book come true. Yes, I know I'm stealing that super-power from all sorts of places (The Eyre Affair being only the most recent) but golly it would be fun XD.
