At many churches, there's a standard communion table that says, "This do in remembrance of me" .....is that even proper grammar?
I visited another church today, and I had forgotten how uncomfortable pews are. It's lousy that pews became tradition in churches. Churches are supposed to make people better, and here they are giving people hurt bums.
At this church, we sang praise songs, and by "we" I mean them. I didn't recognize these songs, because my church has different music. Better music. Well, at least better singers. If our praise team sang "His Eye Is On The Sparrow", I'm sure they'd make it sound much better. At the church I visited today, there was NO emotion in their singing, and it was at such a slow, dismal pace. I think some people need a singing lesson. At my regular church, our music wakes people up.
Also, I hate the song, "Give Me That Old Time Religion". "It was good for [various people mentioned], it's good enough for me." I never settle for "good enough", thank you very much. If you said you'll keep the old-time religion because (you think) it's better than anything new, I'd accept that opinion and let you go on with your differing opinion, but saying it's "good enough" is poor thinking.
