I'm surprised by this official announcement...
Dumbledore and Grindelwald were gay!
The Leaky Cauldron is a VERY trustworthy source. When J.K. Rowling mentioned Albus and Grindelwald being gay, she got a standing ovation, to which she replied that if she knew it would get that kind of response, she would have announced it earlier! With how many Christian themes are in the books, it's extremely surprising that she'd have not just one, but TWO gay characters in the books. It seems gutsy, but in a time with Will & Grace and other gay shows, it's definitely a safe time for Albus to come out of the closet.
So in conclusion, the two most powerful wizards in the first half of the 20th century, who were on opposing sides of the war, one evil, one really nice, were in fact gay lovers.
