this will be very boring for non music majors
so my birthday is on friday ... there's a going to be quite the rager at chelsea's not necessarily jsut for me ... but you'll prob bly sing happy birthday at some point in the night . everyone's invited, including everyone from home. i think miss monica might join and im very excited about that idear :) and yes, i meant to write "idear"
its kinda the big blowout before the shit hitsthe fan aka: the last 2 weeks of school.
im pretty proud of myself, I wrote my composition project more than once, weeks before it's due cause matrix composition is fucking fun as hell. now i really just have to come up with a title for it. i really wanted to name it "practice your fucking part" but i have to come up with something else just so i dont get points off haha. it's kinda funny, or at least to music major it would be funny. it's an atonal trio for 2 clarinets and bass, and of course being the bass player i have the melody. i stretched the octaves so ridiculously, im playing on my thumb keys mostly in the lowest register while the 2nd clar is 2 octaves above me, and the 1st is in the clarion/altissimo range (highest, squeaky, awful range of the clarinet lol). so all that really means is they're playing continously dissonant, awful notes and chords that have no structure or progression, as far apart as i could make them. and on top of it, i wrote it so that if you play the rhythms correctly it sounds like it's being sight read because they'e all written in different time signatures that are all set to different beats per minute (that took me a really fucking long time to time it out mind you) ... it's sounds funny as hell in finale (computer program that you an write and listen to music on).
i should become some atonal composer professional when im older. buuut, all the kids i'll be teaching and experimentng with will hate me. i'll have to be teaching college in order to use my students as guinea pigs .. oh well lol i had alot of fun with this and my teachers just eccentric (sp?) enough to find the humor in it
um in other news, barriers are coming up in 2 1/2 weeks and scale juries are on monday. i might be becoming some fuckin cool composer but im still a sub par musician, i should work on that lol. that means ... after this party i probably wont be drinking at all (okay that's a lie), and when im not doing homework i will be barricaded in the practice rooms crying :) no probably not crying, just hiding sharp objects that i can cut my wrists with. fun times eh?
