Bitterness has mostly been alleviated. Friends and strangers alike assured me that friends are still important when you're dating someone. Still, some people can be a bit negligent, whether it be due to the infatuation stage of relationship, or due to insecurity in the relationship, which means that they have to focus a lot of their attention to making things feel okay in the relationship. The infatuation stage is annoying, because they won't shut up about their boyfriend when you do get a chance to talk to them, but at least they're happy (you just have to keep them in check sometimes :) ). The insecurity thing is much more annoying, though, because they put their boyfriend over themselves even, which is shit for you, since plans with him will always override plans with you, but more than that, it's also sad, because you can see them give up their say in things.
But now I'm just rambling.
So anyway, time for a real update.
I spent six and a half hours doing art homework today (which, despite being called "homework" I can't actually do at home). This semester is going to be really busy with all the art stuff; there's a reason the art department discourages students from taking more than two studio classes in a semester. I still have Japanese homework for tomorrow, and a project I need to finish for digital imaging by Tuesday (and I work tomorrow night). Not to mention I need to get my resume and personal statement written for my JET application. いそがしい~
Nevertheless, I still did some fairly nice things today as well. Talked to Simon this morning, which is always fun, and it does sound like he will be coming to America next summer (yay :D). Then this evening I went to Starbucks with my new Japanese friend, Ayumi. Talked about nerdy stuff and Japanese stuff, and hopefully this Friday we'll be making okonomiyaki! (She's from Hiroshima, so she of course prefers Hiroshima-style, but I like Osaka-style, and she has a friend here from Osaka, as well, who hopefully might also be coming, so maybe we'll make both kinds). Of course, I have to see if my roommate would be up for this as well (though I imagine she would be). We'll also be watching Knocked Up, which none of us have seen but want to.
Speaking of Judd Apatow franchise movies, saw Superbad with Ashleigh, Dan, Eli and their roommate on Friday. Hilarious! Definitely one of the best (if not the best) of the highschoolers-trying-to-get-laid variety of movies (because, you know, there's so much quality competition in this category). I thought that Judd Apatow had written this (and there were very Apatow-ish qualities to it, like how true it is at times, despite the not-so-realistic things), but it turns out Seth Rogen and another guy wrote it. Anywho, I recommend it.
Let's see, what else is there? Not a whole lot really, I guess. Mostly just school and work (I'm back at Subway. Hooray free food!). I guess I should go finish my homework, considering it's past 1 am (how is that late already?)
