Classes start tomorrow! Exciting and yet terrifying at the same time. Who actually got super good at Japanese in Japan? It's one of my biggest regrets that I didn't improve much. I'll feel really stupid if there's someone else there who totally dove in and now speaks practically fluently.

I do love Japanese though. And I'm in the mood where I really feel like I want to make an effort to get better and better at it. Unfortunately I usually get into these moods about things when I have other things that I need to be doing. Need to get Simon's present done (that much I don't really mind, though. It is fun. Plus, seeing as I drank the C.C. Lemon I bought him (had nothing else to drink. Boo on tap water), I'm going to have to wait until at least Tuesday to go get another one, so there's no pressure to have it done by tomorrow or anything). But I also need to get this effing painting done. It's not even that bad I guess. It's more getting myself to work on it rather than working on it in itself. I just keep thinking back to last summer and how much trouble it gave me at parts. Of course she has more paintings lined up for me. Only one more of Johnny Depp though, and that one is a lower priority. Next I'll be doing a painting of some children, and then a bunch of other people at some point. I think she also wants birds. I am taking a painting class this fall, so if the two can overlap, that'll be good.

Anywho. I made curry tonight, and I shared some with the only roommate that I've actually met for more than a few seconds. It was nice to sit and chat and eat. And Japanese curry is just so damn delicious. Why do people not eat it on a regular basis here? It's so easy to make too. (And even easier with the instant packets)

Oh, I also went to the Activities Fair today. Got a bunch of free snacks and drinks, and a free cup. I saw Coral at the Japanese Speaking Society table, too, which was cool. I'm quite excited for that to start. I barely got to participate sophomore year due to always having to work, but this semester will be different. (Plus, I'll be less shy around the Japanese people).

I just remembered that I needed to do my laundry. I should probably start that. Speaking of which, my basement could easily be used as a set in a horror movie.
