Tadaima!

I just got home two hours ago. In that time I have eaten a cheesesteak, watched a classic episode of South Park, Scrubs, The Daily Show and now I'm watching The Colbert Report. Yay America!

I feel like I've been doing nothing but eating the last week. Tempura, okonomiyaki, udon, yakiniku, curry, takoyaki, and so on and so on. Had to get in all the foods I was going to miss, even though I plan on making at least some of those here.

Anyway, I've pretty much been up for 32 hours (30 of those were all the same day. Yay time zones!). All the movies on the planes were only so-so, though I did get to watch The Office towards the end of the second flight.

My goodbye to my host mom was kind of rushed because it was on the train (which was about to leave and she and her friend had to get off, since they only were down there to help me with my luggage and didn't actually have a ticket to ride). She did make me curry for breakfast and I took a bunch of pictures:D

I met Simon for a latte (him a mango slushie) for about an hour and a half before boarding the bus. I suprisingly didn't cry, but once I got on the bus I got really sad, not a crying type of sad, just an aching in your stomach type of sad. I took tons of pictures of Kobe, Osaka and the small cities in between on the way to the airport. I was glad that when the plane left, it did a little circle thingie so I got to see Kobe  as we rose (Kobe is west of Osaka, so since I was heading east, I figured I wouldn't see it).

I had a five hour layover in San Francisco. Even though I had arrived in America, there were still a lot of Japanese people around. In fact, the waiting area for my connecting flight was mostly Japanese at first.

I'm waiting for my reverse culture shock. I did say "hai" and "sumimasen" to random, non-Japanese people today. One thing I noticed was that my house seemed huge, bigger than I remember.

Anyway, sad my friends aren't around but I'm glad to be home Need to renew my drivers license and find a job and write my essays for the scholarships I received. Fun times :D At least I can relax a bit more here

Yay!
