So, I have to change host families.
My current one is a firsttime host family, and I guess the school only asks them to try it out for three months and then decide whether or not they want to do it the whole time. I think it ended up being a lot more pressure and stress than they expected. I`m not sure they really knew how to integrate me into their family, rather than just treat me like a guest, so it`s like they`ve had a guest in their house for the last three months. Then, if you combine that with the fact that their dog died last month, I think they`ve been a little stressed out.
I`m not really upset about it though. I was a bit hurt that they never said anything, at first, but it`s alright. To be honest, I`ve found it a bit stressful also at times, because I did kind of feel like a guest.
Oh well. Now I never have to watch Yu-Gi-Oh again. Or at least, after I move I won`t have to.
I met with Professor Haig and some of the office ladies today to discuss my new host family. Apparantly I`ll be living a woman whose husband died a few years ago and who used to host students but hasn`t in awhile. She has a daughter, but she`s married and lives in Tokyo, though she will be visiting over the holidays. I guess she`s pretty active and is excited to have a host student again. She doesn`t speak English, but I`m glad she has experience with host students and I think it`ll be cool to just live with one person instead of a whole family (who might have differing opinions about the host student situation. I`m pretty sure my current host brother hates me, or maybe he`s just shy, I dunno). I`m going to be meeting her on Friday, and then probably moving next week.
She also lives relatively close to Ashleigh and Jordan, which means it`s farther away from school than where I am now, but it also means that I can get to Sannomiya for free.
Anyway, I`m kind of excited to get a new family, though also nervous at the same time.
