“Oh god, finally” Nino sighed in relief when he found Masaki chained to a wall in one of the dungeons beneath the practice stadium.

“Nino...help me!” Masaki shouted but Nino without waiting for him, went for the nearest hammer and smashed open the chains.

“What is going on? What are all these noise? Nino, someone is after Sho-chan....we have to...”

“I know, I know,” Nino cut him in the middle, “I...”he looked down at the ground in shame when he suddenly found himself in Masaki’s warm embrace.

“It's all my fault...” he cried as he clinged to his friend, “Sho... he gave his power to save me and now monsters have invaded the city, but...but Sho went after them anyways... even when he is powerless.”

“Shhhh....” Masaki hushed as he gently caress Nino's hair.

“I know I don't deserve it, but please help me do something...” Nino pleaded as he parted himself from the tall man, looking at him desperately.

Aiba nodded as he lead Nino to the surface. It was chaotic with tons and tons of people were running scared at every direction. Realizing how grave the situation is, Aiba looked back at Nino but the latter just looked lost.

“First, we have to find Jun,” Masaki said as he held Nino’s face in his hands and gently shaking him back to reality. “We need his help.”

“But he hates me...”

And indeed he did.

Nino winced in pain when Jun punched him in the face.

“I'm out of here!” Jun shouted above the crowd as he tried to get into the train along with other people to leave the city.

“Please Jun...” Nino called out.

“NO!” he shouted with anger, “I once tried to help Sho and look where I ended up, I have nothing to do with that man and especially you, you lying brat!”

Nino looked at Masaki pleadingly but the taller merely nodded his head towards Jun, it was something Nino had to do himself.

“Jun please...” Nino held onto Jun’s arm as for dear life, “I beg you, it was all my fault... Sho had nothing to do with it but I beg you please, you’re the only one who can help him, if you don’t then....” he fell onto his knees as he tried to hold back his tears. Knowing Jun was not going to help them and he was going to lose Sho for good... it was all too much for him.

“Ah...fine.” Nino lifted his head in surprise when he heard Jun’s reply, “But I'm only doing this for Sho.”

“Thank you... thank you so much.” Smiling through his tears, Nino followed Jun and hop on Masaki, who already knew where they should go.

~~**~*~**~~

Sho screamed in pain when his back slammed against the wall. Hitotsume laughed in ecstasy as he destroyed every structure that was in his way, enjoying the way people were running away in fear of their lives.

Sho looked at him in despair, hating how weak he was against a monster. His mind was in frenzy of what to do when a shadow fell on him, “Masaki...” he said with hope as he looked at his friend land close to him but when he saw the people that were on his back he felt both happiness and anger.

“Shooo~ my geeky student...” Jun cheered happily as he ran to him, trying not to lose his spirit because they were indeed in deep shit.

“I'm sorry Jun,” was the first thing that Sho said to him, “I'm sorry for doubting you” he continued weakly as he tried to stand on his shaking legs. “I was blinded by lies...” he said as he looked at Nino with anger, but the younger man was looking at the ground as he stood close to Masaki.

“I should’ve trusted you more...” he rested his weight on his coach.

“It’s okay, you’re my friend Sho.” they smiled at each other for a second before they came out of their moment by a loud sound.

“What done is done, now let's look at the situation,” Jun said as he started writing facts on the ground, “The monster has only one eye.”

“He’s fat and slow.”

“Correct...” Jun added at Sho, “Now what we can do...”

“I can aim his only eyes with an arrow.”

“After that you can join Nino on the ground and wrap a rope around his ankle.”

“I can do it alone, I don't need him... plus it won't be strong enough to hold him.” Sho spat when he heard Nino’s name in the plan.

“Don’t be an idiot Sho, you can’t do it alone and I'm not fast enough. I know the rope will not be strong enough but it’ll make the monster lose his balance and fall.”

“He will fall but he could get up in a second again,” Sho said thoughtfully.

“There is a huge Valley beside the baseball court, remember you defeated fire breathing monster there. If he fall from there, even though he’s a gian he can't get out because of his short legs.” Nino suggested.

Sho opened his mouth to tell him off but Jun beat him to it, “Nino’s right Sho, so zip it. You lead him to the baseball court while Nino and I run there to get ready.”

Sho was tying his bow as Jun went to fetch a rope when he felt Nino’s presence behind him.

“i'm sorry Sho...” he felt his heart tighten when he heard Nino’s soft voice, “I never meant for any of this to happen.”

“Well it did,” Sho said coldly as he placed the arrows on his back, still refusing to look at the younger man, “Let’s just hope we can stop it before it does more damage.”

“I will, I’ll do anything to make it better Sho,” once again Nino tried to reach him, but Sho turned and pushed him away as he made his way to Masaki, “We’ll see about that, Nino.” and with that, Nino once again watch sadly at Sho’s back walking away from him.

“You promised, Sho,” Nino whispered as he looked at the surrounding chaos and watch the man he loved fly away from him, “You promised to never hurt me.” he continued, a sad smile gracing his tired face.

~~**~*~**~~

“Ogura-sama, Ogura-sama…!” Mao shouted in fear as she ran to Ogura’s palace. “The legendary monsters.... GACKT-SAMA FREED THEM!”

“READY THE THUNDERs, WE’RE GOING ON FULL FORCE.” Ogura commanded his subordinates without losing a second  when he heard the news. He then turned to his wife to kiss her goodbye, “Get away from the mountain, you have to be safe.”

He looked back at the four monsters that he banished all those years ago, the Volcano monster, the Ice monster, the Tornado monster and last, in all his glory, the Stone monster marching towards the mountain.

“I can’t afford to fail this time.” he murmured to himself as he watched his men get ready for the fight.

~~**~*~**~~

“Higher, Masaki.” Sho ordered as Masaki dodged another blow by the monster, “Keep this distance, I got him here.” he chanted the last words to himself as he pointed his arrow to Hitotsume’s single eye.

He cheered in happiness when the arrow hit his target perfectly. The monster shrieked in pain and ran around without knowing where he was going but kept a hand on his bleeding eye.

“NOW!” he signaled Nino as they landed on the ground and Nino quickly throw him the end of rope. They both started running in different directions around the monster’s feet and exactly like Jun said, it wasn't enough to stop his movements but it was enough to make the monster lose his balance and fall in the giant hole.

Sho stood on the edge of the hole watching him fall but he was so immersed in his victory that he didn’t notice a damaged pillar that was going to collapse on him.

“SHO!!” by the time Sho came to himself, someone pushed him aside.

“Nino!” it was Jun’s shout that got Sho’s attention and where it should’ve been him, Nino’s weak body laid beneath the stone pillar.

“No no no...” Sho chanted as he ran to the fallen pillar, his anger for the shorter dissipated instantly. Knowing it was futile, he still couldn’t leave Nino there looking so pale as if he was already dead. He pushed and pushed against the pillar but it didn’t move, losing what little hope he had, Sho shouted and gave one last shove. To his surprise, a sudden force hit him as he felt all his strength flowing back into him. Not a second later, he lifted and throw the giant stone away like it was a pebble and looking at his hands in amazement, he wondered how this even happened.

“The promise...” Nino said through his gritted teeth as Sho kneeled beside him and held Nino’s cold hand, “Gackt promised you that nothing would happen to me or else the deal will break.”

“Oh Nino,” Sho sighed brushing his hand against Nino’s pale cheek, “Why did you do it? It should’ve been me.” he felt his tears blurring his vision.

“Well...” Nino smiled as he gently wiped the single tear that fell on Sho’s cheek, “People do crazy things when they’re in love...”

“Don’t.” Sho pleaded as he bit his lower lip, “Don’t talk as if you’re going to leave me...”

“I’m so sorry Sho… but I really fell in love with you, after everything I’ve done and all the pain that you went through because of me… it’s the only-”

“Don’t you dare… NO!” Sho said desperate, seeing how Nino’s vision was losing focus and with the amount of blood flowing from his mouth, he was losing him...

“Please, Nino...”

“You have to go, Sho...” gently Nino tried pushing Sho’s hand away. “You have to get to mount Fuji, Gackt’s planning to take the power and defeat your father, you have to stop him...”

“I can’t leave you...” Sho said softly as he held onto Nino’s hand tighter.

“You’re the only one who can save them, I’ll be fine.”

“I’ll be with him Sho, he’s right.” Jun placed a hand on Sho’s shoulder.

“See...” Nino laughed regardless of the tremendous pain he was feeling, “Even Jun agrees with me so I can’t be wrong.”

Sho tried to laugh with him, but it only came out like a strangled sob.

“I’ll be back in no time.”

“I have no where else to go.” Nino joked but his grip on Sho’s hand tightened, “Just...ca-can i ask you one last thing?” he licked his lips at Sho’s nod, “Will you...will you kiss before you go?”

Instead of an answer, Sho cupped his face as he gently sealed his thin lips with a tender kiss. “I’ll be back soon, just wait for me...” he breathed to his lips one last time before he ran to Masaki, afraid that if he stayed for one more second, he would forget about anything else and just stay there with Nino.

~~**~*~**~~

“You know Ogura, I’ve been waiting for this moment for soooooo long.” Gackt smiled sweetly as he watched the mighty God of Thunder trapped in a pile of lava and ice. The other two monsters imprisoned other angels and gods in the mountain, “Not that I hated you… but I never could stand at how you get to have all these good things to yourself.” Gackt said pensive, avoiding how Ogura was practically throwing daggers at him with his glare.

“It’s because of your dark heart and that you never play fair.”

“Well, we each have our strengths, am I right?” Gackt winked at him.

“Spare my people, Gackt. You can have me but free the others.”

“Awww... what a martyr you are Ogura, just like your stupid son. But also like him, you’re doomed to be defeated.”

“What do you mean?” Ogura barked in anger, “What did you do to my son?”

“Umm… nothing.” Gackt laughed evilly, “Let me just say that you cant count on him to save you now...”

“What....”

“I suppose my monster has already kill-” Gackt froze in the middle of his sentence when the Stone monster was thrown to the Ice monster, smashing its head in the process. “WHAT?” he turned back in surprise to see Sho throwing one of Ogura’s thunders at the mess around his father. The moment the thunder reached the God, he once again recovered his full power.

“How is that even possible?” Gackt cried in agony as he watched Sho grab the Tornado monster and spin it in the air while the other three monsters were sucked into the tornado.

“I got this, son.” Ogura waved his hands in the air and the surrounding atmosphere changed, a huge black hole appearing above Ogura’s head. The God then shouted to Sho, “Now Sho, throw them into nothingness”.

Sho spun the tornado a few times before throwing them into the black hole with all the power he had.

The moment they vanished completely, silence fell on the mountain. Ogura threw his thunders around to free his people, but his eyes never left the still stunned Gackt, “Now YOU, you’ll pay back for what you’ve done.” Ogura didn’t finish his sentence when Gackt started his flying carriage and running away as fast as he could, “This isn’t over!” Gackt screamed over his shoulder.

“Of course it isn't,” Sho growled before looking at his father one last time and ordered for Masaki to follow the God of the Underworld.

“Oh my Sho-chan, you’re following me?” Gackt said when he felt Sho close to him, but when Sho was head to head with him, Gackt showed him a dark smile. “You know… I’m expecting a new guest to my collection, he’s dying to see me.”

The moment those words left his mouth, Sho froze where he was when he realized what Gackt was getting at. “Nino.” He whispered and directed Masaki to fly as fast as he could back to the fallen pillar.

By the time Sho got to the baseball court, the most heartbreaking scene welcomed him when he saw Jun’s tear stained face as he shook his head in sorrow. With Nino’s closed eyes and unmoving body, Sho knew in his gut that it was too late.

Sho’s wail filled the empty ground as he hugged Nino’s dead body.
