“I said put him down,” Nino stopped his struggle the moment he heard an unfamiliar voice, wondering who in their right mind dare to oppose the giant beast.

“Fly away you little fly, this has nothing to do with you,” Nino rolled his eyes as Himura bent down to be in the same eye level as the new intruder.

“I will not.” the stranger placed his hands on his hips, showing his broad chest to the centaur, and for the second time that day Nino rolled his eyes again, “Get out of here boy,” He said out of breath as the giant’s grip was still tight around him, “You’re no match for him.” He said while struggling.

“But he’s hurting you so I came to save you,” The man said so innocently that Nino couldnt help but chuckle at that, “Thank you hero-san, ahhh” He swirled around to get more air, “But he’s going to kill you in a second and the last thing I want is your blood on my hands, so” He shooed the tall man with his hands, “Outta here.”

“But-“

“Ugh, too much talking.” the centaur finally had enough when he punched the stranger in the face, sending him flying away to the far side of the river.

“Ahhhh...” Nino sighed, shaking his head in disappointment, “Its a shame, he was beautiful...”

“What about me?”

“Ugh...gross.” He tried to push Himura’s face aside again when out of nowhere a punch landed on the centaur’s chest.

In one second, Nino was trying to free himself off of that beast and the other he saw sky as he was flying in air, from above he could see that Himura was knocked out beside a tree while the stranger was busy massaging his fist, “With only a punch?” He thought as he felt himself getting closer to the ground.

“Whoaaa...” He screamed as he had more important things to worry about now, but luckily his shout made the man aware of his presence.

“Dont worry, I got you!”

But even after hearing that from the tall man below him, Nino still shut his eyes tightly as he braced himself to hit the water, instead he fell into a pair of warm arms.

“Told you I got you.” He opened his eyes to meet the man’s kind ones and for the first time in a long time he felt safe in the stranger’s embrace.

“I’m Sho, by the way.”

“Oh Nino, you came back fast,” Gackt stopped looking at his favorite board, ever since they got closer to the date of the prophecy, Gackt tried to attract more monsters on his team. With each beast they got, he put a model of it on his “destiny” board as he called it. Everything was going according to plan, a few months before that destined date, monsters started to appear at every part of the country and it was all terrifying, but he couldnt be happier as he was sure he was close to his goal.

All that was left for him was to gather as much force as he could, so when the stars lined up he would be able to defeat Ogura, he smiled at the thought.

“I know,” Nino grumbled and by his tone Gackt knew something was off.

“What happened?” He turned to look at Nino from his board. “He didnt agree to join our group?”

“Oh he very much liked to join,” Nino mocked as he sat on a tree trunk, “But in the middle of our “conversation” someone appeared out of nowhere and knocked him right out.”

“WHAT?” Gackt shouted, “Who?”

“Beats me.” Nino said as he shrugged his bony shoulders, “His name was Sho, I never saw anyone as powerful as him, he was with a horse that had wings but then it turned to a human who talked A. LOT, and then there was this...” Nino stopped his rambling when he saw how wide Gackts eyes grow, “Gackt, are you okay?”

“PAIN, MISERYYYY!!!!” He screamed for his servants and Nino thanked every god that they were deep in the Jungle.

“YOU STUPID IDIOTS, YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO MAKE HIM DRINK ALL OF IT.”

“I-im sorry Gackt-san, bu-but...” Pain stammered.

“SILENCE.” Gackt exploded as he was embraced by his own fire.

“Calm down, calm down honey.” He paced around, repeating those words over and over.

“I’m trying to,” Misery panted but Nino hit his head.

“He’s talking to himself you idiot.”

“Oh, okay then.” Misery shut up immediately.

“You two idiots messed up everything but at least he drank it so he’s still vulnerable,” He stopped on his track to glare at his servants again, “He drank most of it at least, right? or did you lie about that too?”

“No he drank all of it, just the last drop was left,” Pain whined for some sympathy but Gackt was already on his next move.

“Okay, I dont want to ruin your party, but do you mind telling me what the hell is going on here? Who is he?” Nino finally decided to ask the question that was bugging him, after all the years he was with Gackt he never saw the God of the Underground like that. ”What’s so special about this Sho guy anyway, believe me I talked to him but he seemed like a dork.”

“That doesnt matter,” Gackt waved a dismissive hand. “Nino, you have another job to do so get ready to go to town.”

At that he turned to Pain and Misery again, “You two better listen to me carefully or this time I’ll not be so kind.”

“Stop sighing, you look like a school girl with a crush” Jun growled as they walked through the crowd.

“Sorry,” Sho said sheepishly, “I just can’t forget about him...and he just ran away, I didnt even get the chance to ask for his name...”

“Hey, hello, Sho-chan?” Masaki knocked on his head to get Sho’s attention.

“Ouch, I can hear you just fine,” He pouted while massaging his head. “I’m not that struck by him.”
“Yeah right, and I can get every girl that I want in town.”

“But you cant Jun-kun,” Masaki said innocently, just to be smacked by Jun this time.

“My point exactly, you idiots,” He growled walking through the crowd. “Anyways, we have more important things to worry about right now.”

“Like what?”

“Like finding a job, Sho-chan.”

“Right,” He chuckled shyly looking at the crowd that were trying their best to get to their houses as fast as possible, “The situation here got so much worse.”

“I know,” Jun looked at the people that were closing their stores, “I knew it was bad, but I didnt know it was like this...the monsters didnt give them a chance.”

“Hey Jun,” Sho perked up by an idea, “Maybe I can help them with that, and I’m trained to help people after all...”

“Thats not a bad idea actually...” Masaki cheered beside them.

“Well for starters, there must be some chaos for you to show yourself...”

And it wasnt even before Jun could finish his sentence when they heard someone calling for them. The Gods were on their side that day.

“HEY...Hey.”

Sho grinned happily when he saw that familiar face running towards them.

“Oh, hi...I thought I would neve-“

“No time for that,” Nino panted as he tried to catch his breath, “There-there is a problem at Kokuritsu stadium.”

“What?”

“No time to explain,” Nino gripped his hand looking at him desperately, “There are two children who needs your help.”

“Say no more, Masaki!”

“Hai, I’m on it.”

“What?” but before Nino could come to himself he was on the flying horse heading towards the stadium, holding on to the young man and praying for his dear life.

“Oh damn,” Jun growled when he saw the giant stone in the middle of the ground, “Who did that?”

Nino ran a hand through his dishevelled hair, trying his best to calm himself, “Ah...the last monster that attacked Tokyo, he joked that he was participating in the Olympics and throw the stones.” Nino explained as they ran toward the children.

“Can you lift it up?” Masaki said looking concernedly at how big the stone was.

“Well...” Sho scratched the back of his head as he bent down to look at the children who were stuck under the rock. “You guys okay?”

“Yes sir,” the little girl cried.

“You two idiots, what were you doing here in the first place?” Jun crossed his arms over his chest, still not believing the scene in front of him but considering the circumstances he wasnt that surprized anymore.

“It was my fault,” this time the little boy said sadly, “I dared her to fit herself in the hole under the rock but when she got stuck I went after her to help her...”

“Its okay guys,” Sho looked at them kindly, “I’m gonna get you out of here in a second.”

“Well you better succeed hero-san,” Nino looked at the people who heard the commotion and were gathering in the stadium to see how it will go, “You have a lot of audience.”

“Aahhh, I’m so excited, this is your chance to show yourself Sho-chan,” Masaki cheered happily but Sho’s eyes were only on one person.

“I told you,” Sho said as he positioned himself beside the stone. “My name is Sho.” He said winking at Nino, gathering his power as his lifted the stone over his head.

The moment people saw what he did, the whole stadium exploded with loud cheers.

“Come on guys,” Masaki help the children out, “Get away.”

“See, that wasnt so hard.” Sho grinned at Jun who was still looking at him strictly.

“Dont be so cheeky Sho, I didnt teach you like--” but his words died down when he saw what came out of the hole that was hidden by the stone until a few seconds ago.

“Oh my god,” Nino said out of breath while looking at the serpent that came out, he saw many monsters during his years with Gackt, but this one was definitely one of the kind.

“Well, this one is definitely yours...” Jun give Sho his sword as he, along with Nino and Masaki started running off towards the bleachers, “Remember your training.”

Looking at his opponent, Sho placed his hand on his chin thinking about the best strategy to attack when in a second the beast swallowed him whole.

The whole stadium suddenly went silent by what they saw.

“I cant believe it,” Masaki cried as Jun shook his head in disappointment.

“I knew it,” Jun kicked a nearby pebble, “This was too good to be true, learn your lesson Jun.”

But Nino only looked at what happened in sadness, as if someone grabbed his heart and wouldnt let go. Raising his head, he saw Gackt in the crowd winking at him with a smile on his face.

He sighed, guilt embracing him silently.

The monster screamed loudly as if to wake people from their daze and started to run after them when it suddenly froze. A beat and a second later they saw a swish of the sword that was in Sho’s hand a few seconds ago slicing the monster’s head clean off.

“Ugh...” Sho looked at the goo that was on him, “Next time I shouldn’t hesitate,” he looked up at the crowd that were looking at him stunned, “Oh, hey guys.”

The next thing they heard was Jun’s shout of happiness while everyone else ran towards him to hug their new hero. Sho smiled as he heard people chanting his name, well... it wasnt a bad day after all.
The last thing Sho saw as he was carried away by the people was Nino’s salute before he vanished into the crowd.

“Damn...” he cursed silently, “Not again.”
