Who or what do you think has the most influence over how you portray your character?
As strange as it may sound, I think I've mostly been influenced by the writers of other characters. I haven't really come across many Jack players, though this is probably due to my own browsing habits, and I've been playing him for a relatively short amount of time compared to a lot of people. He's the first character that I've explored so thoroughly, joining a handful of prompt comms and participating in memes and things along with others. It's probably not all that surprising that the people I took my cues from, how I should expand on different aspects of his personality, how I should treat canon, are those on my flist. Watching and asking and learning.
I could have probably taken Jack in a very different direction, focused more on the suave, confident personality with which we are presented with in the show. But considering who I'm friends and I RP with, I don't think it comes as a surprise that I chose instead to focus on more psychological aspects when it came to writing and developing his character.
