[[OOC: This action part is totally skippable and I apologize for the TL;DR third person, but I wanted to write out Larry's reaction to this string of events since Phoenix and Iris were two of his closest CR.]]

[It had been a crazy couple days for Larry. Just after reaching Azalea Town, the news of Phoenix's disappearance hit him. And it hit him hard. Larry was, of course, sad, and he missed Phoenix already. He wasn't expecting his best friend, the one who he wanted to challenge the Pokémon League with, to disappear so suddenly. Though, neither was anyone else close to the Laywer. However, Larry had managed to cope by venting through training and keeping in touch with Miles and Iris. As long as he had his friends with him, everything would be okay.

Right?

After a long day of training, Larry headed for the inn. Tomorrow would be the day he would challenge Bugsy and get the heck out of this town. On the way, he thought about Phoenix. He wondered how he would fare now that he knew some events that would happen in the future. He wondered if he would remember about his time in Johto when he returned. Larry shook his head. Of course he would. Gotta stay positive!

Slinking up to his room, Larry dug out the key from his pocket, unlocked it, and stumbled into the room.

Sitting on his bed was a Poké ball. Dumbfounded, Larry moved toward the bed, picking up the ball. A note beside where it previously laid was a note from Room Service: "We found this outside your room and assumed you dropped it." That sounded off to Larry, since he knew he had all of his Pokémon with him. Shrugging, he released the Pokémon inside, curious to see what it was.

The Pokémon that appeared was what he was least expecting it to be.]

... Bikini?

[It was a Bayleef. Unmistakably Iris's Bayleef, Bikini. At that sight, Larry felt his heart drop. Well this couldn't be right. Iris was on her way to Ecruteak. Why would Bikini turn up here?

He knew the answer, but he didn't want to believe it. He couldn't believe it. Not just after Phoenix...

Larry hurriedly grabbed his 'Gear and dialed for Iris. Maybe Iris decided to travel the long way to Ecruteak rather than taking the shortcut and she misplaced Bikini's Poké ball. That had to be it.

But it wasn't. As soon as he dialed, he was hit with his worst fear: "The number you have dialed is no longer in service."

The 'Gear dropped from his hand and hit the floor. Larry stared wide-eyed at the floor. Bikini stood by his side and whined sadly. He wanted to pick it back up and dial her number a hundred more times, but he knew that no matter how many times he called, Iris would not magically pick up.]

No.

No. Not right after Nick...

[He sank to his knees. He should have figured it would only be a matter of time before horrible luck caught up with him. Cindy, Elise... now Phoenix and Iris too were gone. The only thing that made him feel slightly better was the thought that they might come back one day. Still, it wasn't going to help him now. Nothing could help the sick feeling in his stomach that he'd have for a long time.]

Baaaaay...

Yeah, I know, Bikini. At least she's okay. I wonder...If I'll live up to her expectations back home.

[He wrapped an arm around the Bayleef, pulling her close. It was going to be a long couple days.]

[After having his little moment, Larry picks up the 'Gear and, ignoring the network, types out a post since he really doesn't want anyone to see him in this state. That's usually saved for Phoenix who...isn't here.]

Iris is gone now too. They're...both really gone.

Just an FYI, I'm gonna challenge Bugsy tomorrow and get up to Goldenrod ASAP. I need to get back to some actual civilization.

[As he shuts off the 'Gear, he thinks to himself, "Edgey, don't you disappear too."]
