ld Beckett's a little confused when the Starbucks barista wants to give her a hug of congratulations when she and Castle pick their up coffees together one Sunday morning; Castle merely smiles and posits that, though this is the detective's first time at his neighborhood store, the girl may feel like she and the detective are old friends by now
I think this is still one of my favourites because I just love the idea of him telling all these random people in his life, like coffee girls and the people who deliver his takeout, all about her. It's just so him.
Also this: ilence It's a bittersweet moment when he realizes his fantasy of interrogation room sex will never materialize; not because she won't consider it, but because there's absolutely no way she could be that quiet.
I can't even deal with how hot this is. It just makes me go jkdhbjhjdhbjdhbjdbhj and melt into a puddle on the floor.
Basically, you make me day life. ♥

No, I do NOT need to write interrogation room sex. I. Do. Not.

I really have a new appreciation for the boys post-"Knockdown". Their epicness knows no bounds.

Snow Patrol? :3
These are lovely. I like how you don't totally overstate their relationship and have them go into oodles of fluff (it's just... not Castle. Well, might be Castle, but it's not really Beckett XD)
Awesome! I love 1sentence (and it's counterpart, 3sentence)

I'm so glad these worked for you, and thank you for mentioning the characterization; that's the one thing I strive to be decent at, above everything else. And I completely agree with you about tone; life has a funny way of rewriting "happily ever after," and I just feel like given all they've seen, to have Beckett and Castle ignore that would be disingenuous.
Anyway, thanks so much for reading and commenting!
