remember when i took off to Italy for a month?

well, i finally posted the digital pictures.

also, there is a high quantity of "old men" or "walking women" photos. i took them for source material for future paintings, so don't think I am a weirdo.

Your pictures are all just stunning! Wow. The food ones made me so hungry. And I adore that wee little boat puppy!

I was wondering, what is the make and model of your digital camera? The quality is awesome.

hey jane!
that puppy was so so cute and wee.

i didnt think i would like lugging this camera around with me to italy but it was so worth it and i fell in love with the camera as i went throuogh italy. its the new Olympus 8080 and its an 8 megapixel camera. i oculdve taken even sharper pictures but i didnt want to take like 5 memory cards with me. HIGHLY recommend this camera. you can check out the review on dpreview.com.

also, when i first bought it, it ook it on a trip to chinatown:

wow wow wow! these photos are amazing!

the urban landscape shots are my favorites. so intricate and variegated. they're living in technicolor over there.

Perugia is WONDEFUL, Rosa. so many people go straight to Tuscany. if you veer SoutheEast, Umbria holds these beautiful medieval castle towns (Assisi being the most famous). They are more rugged and hilly then Tuscany. Tuscany is way more pastoral and for those people reading Under the Tuscan Sun. Perugia is for people who like steep stairs and windy medieval streets (me).

Verona was also a gem. Urbino is a 4000 person tiny medieval town. its the most magical place. I wish it wasnt rainy when i was there, or my pcitures wouldve turned out like the Perugia one. But definately spend some time in Umbria if you go. rent a car and drive to these towns. they dont really allow cars in the historical centre, which is great for walking. you just park and enter the city. its surreal.
