When you have a tsunami, you must flee to higher ground. We learned this yesterday when everyone in Japan was alerted. There was a big earthquake and flashing TV screens. I guess a little wave came up, but nothing life threatening. What happened to excitement and terror? I'm not gonna lie to you... I live for violent weather. I hope that it will give me days off work... or a reason to watch DVDs and eat only what's in the cupboards. But nothing ever happens in mild Japan. Not really.
Watch, the whole country will probably fall into the ocean tomorrow.
Today I'm just sitting around the house taking care of loose ends. Tomorrow is Friday and I have to do an elementary lesson: "Where are you from?" I'm really proud of this lesson because I spent a lot of time and money on it. DAMN! I am going to introduce 8 countries to the kids and have them learn to say "Where are you from?" And "I'm from ......." Then I am going to assign officers, give each student a passport, and have them travel to the different countries having their passports stamped. WELCOME TO GERMANY! We'll see how that all works out. I often go to elementary schools on Fridays, and I like that. Because no matter what happens, or how many kids twist me around the room by my arm and then insult me, I can always say: "You rotten kids think you own me, but it's Friday, and I'm going to have a beer in like... 2 hours." When I say this to myself... I feel happiness in my heart. Real happiness.
I'm getting hungry and I have to eat now.
