So I am at sort of a new job… and I’m still a bit cautious about what I’m doing. Like today, it’s Monday, and last week my teacher said we would be doing 9th grade classes and asked me to prepare some things… but no big deal, because it’s the next week. So I came in and right away start with the materials and the drawing and the writing poems and shit… because I’m like “Oooh, I wasted the weekend away.” Meanwhile I only have one class today and it’s an 8th grade class. I finished Angela’s Ashes yesterday. It was so good I didn’t even wait for school to finish it. I read it at home. I do highly recommend it… it’s one of the best books I’ve read in a while. Was there ever a movie made of it? I wish there was. It would make a good movie. Plus I got online after I finished it and Wikipedia Frank McCourt only to find out that there is another book called ‘Tis. Which is like a sequel to Angela’s Ashes. I would LOVE to read that one. Winkity wink wink.
So today is Pap’s day off. I wonder if we’ll do anything fun. Must save money though… I’m on the hunt for a bakery. We need good bread… and I think maybe that will be the project for today. ‘Find some bread.’ I am truly disappointed with my local supermarket.
Uhhh, also I have a meeting today at the board of ed. I think it’s one of those formal… meet everyone type things, since all the JETS at my boe have to attend. I just hope it gets finished quickly. And that’s no jive.
Just had class… ahh geez. These kids would rather hang out in a garbage truck than raise their hand and answer a question.
Today was Chinese. Dumpling soup, shrimp rice pilaf, a funky salad, so on. It was good. But it’s really put me in the crib to be honest with you. I need a nap. Looks like the sun came out already and stuff. It says that there is a teacher’s meeting at 2:30. If they all leave the room I can cut out as early as 2:50. This would be lovely. Really.
