[Connor's in full-on geek mode. On the table in front of him are a collection of tools he's be scrounging, begging and borrowing, and a random collection of electrical equipment. He's talking to himself, completely oblivious to everything but the box in his hands.]
...s'got to be a way in, has to be... if I can just...
[He sits back, running a hand through his hair.]
...'cause, it's got to send a signal of some sort- or how do the Deities grant the wish? An if the signal's, like, on their wavelength, maybe I can hack it, right?
[He keeps turning the box over in his hands, looking intently at the corners and seams.]
...maybe I can call out... call Cutter, or... or Abby... Abby... wonder what she's doing... s'probably going with Stephen, lucky sod.
[His mind drifts as he thinks about Abby (as it tends to do), but he keeps turning the box over... that is, until he fumbles it and it begins to fall. With a startled yelp, he reaches out to grab it, his hand coming down squarely on the button. He freezes, a comical "oh shit" expression on his face.]
...oh, that can't be good, can it?
[From off-camera, there's a strange chirping noise, almost bird-like, but not quite. Suddenly something flies at Connor's head, snapping at him furiously. Whatever it is, it is NOT happy to be in the City all of a sudden. Connor (who may or may not have just shrieked like a little girl) flails and drops off camera. The
creature peers at the recording device, chirping, before it knocks the device off the table. The video goes black and you can hear Connor in the background.]
...Rex? What are you- Ow! Ow! Rex!
