Getting back into the swing of things...

I am once again back at school and finally beginning to get organized and get into the swing of things.  My last week was rather hectic, but not because of school work... Last year I requested to live in South Halls, mainly because I like the food down there and I have lived just about everywhere else.  So I moved in...  as soon as I entered the dorm, I knew I was in for a real surprise...  I went down the steps and opened the door into my room.  WOW was I shocked.  Beyond the musty smell, was a wee little dirty window that was directly accross from Hooters.  The room itself consisted of an armoire, drawers, desk, bed, old shittty microfridge, and file drawer thing.  Long story short.  I requested to move since I was the only Senior amongst all Freshmen in South Halls.  So to my surprise they moved me.  I had to repack all my shit, then the cleaning lady in Hoyt Hall assisted me in moving.

So they moved me into what I am calling one of the nicest rooms in West Halls, well at least in Hamilton Hall.  The room is on the secluded 4th floor, which has terrible access to the lower parking lot, but overlooks the Quad of West.  The Quad is the area that all the halls face, no roads, just sidewalks, grass, and trees in a formal setting.  I sit above the entrance to the main area.

Anyways, I am so thankful I got moved to this location.  And I thought Penn State Housing didn't care about me.  Ahh they do!

So today or well tomorrow is the 5th anniversary of 9/11.  I know I will take time out of my day to look back and recognize the events which took place on that day and rememeber those who lost their lives as well as those that put their lives on the line everyday to keep me free and safe.  I still remember where I was when the first plane hit the first tower and the person who told me.  Lunch had just begun and my friend Zach informed me that something was happening in the World Trade Center in New York.  I remember going to work after school at the Hothouse and having a TV set up there to watch the news at Ground Zero.

Goodnight.  God Bless 9.11

Erik
