Yesterday was definitely the craziest day of work yet, but I guess that's to be expected right before spring break. This 5 year old kid sang at least 30 seconds of "Baby Got Back" (getting all the lyrics perfect) until I told him to stop. 1 fireman and 1 firewoman came to talk to the entire class, because Thursday I caught 3 kids after breaking the glass to the fire alarm, but luckily before actually pulling it.
But the craziest thing, by far, involved
Towards the end of the day, I was doing my thing, and the parents of one of the girls in my class came in to pick her up. I recognized the mom, but I had never seen the dad before. The girl, Caitlyn, got really excited and was all: "Daddy! I missed you so much!" I didn't think too much of it at the time, so I let Caitlyn go since I recognized her mom. About 2 minutes later I hear the mom screaming: "Please! Don't do this!!! Please god don't do this!" and I'm like "what the hell is going on?" I didn't actually see it happen, but apparently the dad grabbed Caitlyn, stole the mom's car, and drove off, kidnapping Caitlyn. Apparently the guy is a deadbeat dad who isn't supposed to have contact with Caitlyn, but earlier in the day he had approached the mom to try and make up because he "missed Caitlyn." I guess it was just an act, though, because the first chance he got he snatched her up and ran. So we immediately called the cops as the mom was hysterically crying, for obvious reasons, and they were arriving on the scene just as I was leaving from work. It was all really freaky, though.
Last night I went with Jenny and Adrian to see "Ella Enchanted." I really, really didn't want to see it, but Jenny said that if I saw it with her, she'd see "13 Going on 30" with me, which I really want to see since I love Jennifer Garner. :) As expected, Ella blew hardcore, but I could be a bit biased because I hate Anne Hathaway. The movie was so bad, it's not even funny. The whole basis was extremely lame and overused, and they tried to pull off this whole new-age fairytale setting which just wasn't happening. We contemplated leaving the movie more than once, but I put my foot down and said that for $8.50 I was seeing the damn ending. And oh what an ending it was.
Today I went and did all sorts of errands with Troy, Heidi, and Sarah. Trying to get a new cell phone, but I have no credit--good or bad--so it's too expensive. I'll probably just end up getting one under my Dad's name. Then I went to a BBQ at Ryan's with Jenny. Ryan has a sweet-ass house on the lake with over 5 acres of land, so it was a lot of fun. He asked if I wanted to jump in the lake, and I said I would if he would, and then he said he would... I couldn't back down, so we changed, climbed up on his high dive (which was pretty damn high) and both jumped in together. Ryan's an awesome guy, but he has some weird things about him... like he kept introducing us as "My co-workers, Mr.Brandon and Ms.Jennifer," which I guess is kind of understandable for me since I haven't known him for too long, but Jenny is his girlfriend of ~4 months. It just seemed weird.
I bought the Alias game today for PS2, so I'm off to play! Hoo hah!
