(no subject)
Hey guys...I havent written in a while..SORRY! Well lets see...I'm definitely ready for this semester to be over. It has been a blast but Florida is going to start getting hot soon...Jeefy no handle hot. And also, Im really stressed and its just going to get worse until the summer. It may not sound like a lot but ask Hilary...its a pain! So here it goes. This week, I have to sing one of my NATS pieces in studio. Which wouldnt be a problem if she had given me the song earlier. Basically,I had to learn it tonight so I can work with my teacher on that song tomorrow morning at my lesson, So there's that. Then I have to drive home-I'm really beginning to hate driving even if it is in the coolest car ever! So Easter with the family...yay fun then drive back down. Monday lessons SUCK! Then that Wednesday, I'm singing my other two NATS pieces in SEMINAR! Meaning in front of the whole voice program...professors and all. Again this wouldnt be a problem if I had done it last semester. But no, I was lazy and now im a nervous wreck because this will be my first time. So after that..is NATS! National Association of Teachers of Singing...odd name right? Anyway, its a vocal competition. I've been to it before but not as a college student. So I'm moving up a level. I;m going to be competing against all of my friends and thats sad-including ZUIFF!!! SHE IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I'm not expecting to place so it will just be for experience, but its still nerve racking! Ok so after that is juries...I'm not really sure when they are, but they are before finals...thats all i know! But after juries, I have a performance that is a branch-off from the oratorio...early music-bleh! A small group of us are doing it. The people are so much fun. Its strange singing with grad students. They are so friggin on-task. I get all A.D.D sometimes and look around and all of a sudden, the director has changed dynamic markings and such and then im completely LOST! but in a way its funny...I just look over to my other alto friends and they know they must repeat things! haha! They are the same altos I worked with for the oratorio. They are both men...they are great fun! Soooooo then there is also the University Singers concert at some point. Not sure when....and finally....FINALS! AHHHHHH! Busy, busy, BUSY 6 weeks ahead of me. I hope I can survive. Man I wrote a lot just now.
Now that I got that off my chest, I want to tell y'all about my AMAZING weekend! Well...amazing Saturday really! Some people got together and went to Alligator Point, a beach just south of us. It only takes less than an hour to get there so its not far at all. And it is so BEAUTIFUL!!!! So it was me, viveka, kait, three of kaits friends from valdosta, derek, james, and corey. Have I mentioned that I like corey? welll....i like corey!! So we get there and the weather was amazing so we just sat for a minute. Then me and veka decided to build a sand castle. I had bought pails and shovels earlier! muahahaha! youth! so we attempted that...it was not successful but really fun anyway! Then we made Derek a merMAN! He had shells on his chest and everything...the works! We have so many pictures...it was HILARIOUS!! Then Kait and her friends had to go back, so me, veka, derek, jame, and corey went on a walk to the actual point. It didnt look like a long walk from where we were, but it ended up being like 2 miles! haha! but it was so worth it! We had so much fun just walking, talking, and goofing around. *sigh* i want to go back...sao then we walked back, had some early dinner because we had some food there with us. After that, we decided to head back to tallahassee...as we were driving, we got to watch the sunset. It was so beautiful! We were all so relaxed it was scary. OH!!!! I FORGOT!! on the way to the beach, corey was following me and veka in the jeetle right? well the boys were goofing around and honking the horn and passing us and stuff, so they made me miss a turn. It was funny...so i saw a place to turn around and i pulled in and around. Corey followed me but didnt see that i had stopped...HE HIT MY CAR!!!!!!! IT WAS SO FUNNY!!!! and it was only funny because of his face when he did it AND because there is no damage!! hahahaaaaa!! Kristen, dont tell mom!!! because they family mnight freak out!! but that was so funny...both of us had never been into an accident before so we were laughing about that...just think! years and years down the road, he will never forget his first "accident." Granted it was very small and there wasnt a scratch, he still hit me!thats an accident...right guys???? haha!
After the beach, me, veka, corey, derek, hilary, reggie, and jovan went to see The Ring Two. It was so....FUNNY!!!!! The whole theatre made fun of it he whole time. It was great. And what really made me laugh was when Derek would yell something. I'm telling you...Derek is one of the funniest people alive!! Y'all HAVE to meet him...and corey...:):):):)
