Prebirthday through birthday
Prebirthday: quarterlife crisis results in a list of 47 things i have yet to do with my life.
Which results in my hair turning pink, my eyeliner producing cattails at work and me actually going to a STEP areobic class. Which i strangly liked.. I thought the Sr. VP would flip about the hair - after all, i am in client services.. no response from him.. Maybe he is colorblind and didnt even notice. The eyeliner was carelessly blotched about 10 minutes after applied.. not day makeup anyhow. the step aerobics class was mega fun!
The weekend prior to the big 2-3 was spend in Boston and travelling. The weather was not agreeable but the trip and the location was mega fun. The ride home was much more enjoyable (daylight) and stopping off at the random rest stops/towns made the trip great.
My Birthday occured on my boss' last day. She had quit the week prior and the Sr.VP found it unnecessary to keep her on for the 2 weeks at her salary. I was in charge of her surprise cake/good luck/good bye. Many people in the office (and there is a total of 27 of us) didn't know she was even leaving until i sent out an email saying "cake at 2." It was a shop rite cake but still good. so i did have a piece of cake on the bday! I got many faxes that day also. Mainly from my crazy mother - some from other relative and family friends. The Senior VP, being a dick and all, jokingly suggested that i was using up all the toner from the fax machine, then questioned how often i intend to visit home.. difficult to say, i don't have trip to Detroit planned, although i will be in Lansing in August.
I bought a bottle of wine for the boss on behalf of my coworker and i (although he hasn't coughed up the money for it yet). she offered to take us out for drinks for my bday. so after the crazy day of meeting after meeting we went to the Office in Ridgewood. made it for Happy Hour! drank, ate and was merry with co-workers and the boss. discovered that the boss is a really smart and talented woman and have secured her as a surperb referrence for future. also found out she is going to the competition..
she got the tab.
on the way home got a little lost- somehow was a little bit north or where we were even though i live south east of the bar. not exactly sure how that happened. saw a shooting star though- made a bday wish since htere was no candles :( the wish has yet to come true, but i'll keep you updated.
today. day one without boss. day two as a 23-year-old. day four since i'd been to the gym. . . but who's counting? i, apparently, got all of her messages forwarded to me. i also got the bulk of her clients dumped on me. today i placed every imaginable kind of recruitment ad.. and it's a freakin Tuesday - Tuesday is supposed to be the slowest day of the week. Monday, you deal with problems. Wednesday you have ads to write/proof. Thursday you have deadlines galore and billing has to be transferred to NY for processing. Friday you have to deal with last minute ads and postings and more postings and ususally requests for research come in. Tuesday is the relax day - spend a hour (or at least 1/2) on lunch. not the eat-soup-that-you-warmed-up-because-you-didn't-eat-it-fast-enough-the-first-time-while-you-write/place/proof/research-adverisements-and-bring-in-thousands-of-dollars Day. definately not that.
i'm beat. oh, also met a girl who was offered the AC job. her name is Alex... i only met her for like 1 minute but i can tell shes a bit of an over-achiever so that would be awesome if she accepts! and could start Monday.
