The summer before I went to college and my freshman second semester I "tutored" a Baker College student in Alegbra. I don't think I have really spoke to her since about that time.. maybe once or twice the following year and as I'm getting ready for bed tonight I get a phone call from her. Her name is Serena. I met her while waiting tables at Docs. For some reason I gave her the nickname Serweenie. it was way too funny at the time, so you can imagine my surprise when a missed call from Serweenie shows up.
Her voice message informs me that someone has called her and impersonated me under a private number, claiming that I was drunk after going out for a couple of beers with my friends. Now anyone who knows me would find this comical to say the least.
First, why drunk dial an former tutor student...?
Second, how in the hell would a COUPLE of beers get me drunk? maybe a couple of dozen of beers or something to that effect but a couple comon now, you are just insulting my Spartan experience.
Thirdly, who would do this?! Who would call her under a non displayed number and talk to her claiming to be me? Am I think idolized that people actually go around pretending they are me? if so..... cool.
So naturally I call her back to let her know that I did not call her in the first place. But we get to talking, in the lapsed time she got into the super competitive Nursing program and Baker and she passed her Nursing Bar Exam and was currently at work at Macomb General Hospital. She probably couldn't solve for x if f(x) = x^2+7x+10 but she's saving lives. so good for her.
I'm impressed that she called me actually after talking to the me-wannabe. It reconfirms the good notion of respect and integrity she has. and by the way, x = -5,-2.
