This Was The Moment Of Truth For Me!

I had to work hard catching up with Seasons 1 & 2, I suppose you could call me a "late bloomer" or "late to the party," either way, I arrived at the end not long after everyone else was talking about the Season 2 Finale.  So, I thought I would share some of MY thoughts on scenes from the end of Season 2.

As I watched the early episodes, I was torn between whether Red was Lizzie's father or not.  (And as I can see from lurking around other BlackList fan sites, that is where the big controversy begins).  I can see both sides of this debate, but honestly, when I saw S2E14, T. Earl King, I let go, took in a deep breath and sighed.  This was the moment of truth for me and that is the way it always will be.

The moment when Raymond said Lizzie's name, just as he was about to executed by a mad man seeking revenge, he wanted to be the last word on his lips that of the woman he loves.  As for Lizzie, she didn't even hesitate to risk her own life to save Raymond's.  It was instinctual, it was necessary, and it was the sacrifice she was willing to make for the man she loves.

And finally, it broke my heart the way Raymond looked at Lizzie when he told her to "never do that again".  It seemed like the life had been drained out of him, like he knew in that moment that she could have died because of him, not as an accident because of her association with him, but because she chose to come after him, and he could not have lived with himself if that had happened.
