get it now

so apparently there is some sort of gas problem going on now in the southeast and it really better not ruin my life!
last night ben was out and he called me all frantic saying "DONT ASK QUESTIONS JUST GET IN YOUR CAR AND MEET ME AT THE BP AND BRING ALL THE GAS CONTAINERS FROM THE GARAGE" so of course i did and he was there and like every gas station on the way was like CRAMMED with cars all lining up and so i was like speeding in the pouring rain trying to get to the freaking BP gas station. when i got there it was all empty and dark (closed) with bags over the pumps and ben was there and said "GO ACROSS THE STREET TO THE HESS ILL MEET YOU THERE"

and he filled up all the tanks and there were so many people there and a cop and apparently people were fighting over gas and someone stole someone else's gas.

all because of this hurricane Ike! I guess what happened is that all the refineries in the gulf of mexico shut down in case the storm destorys them, so supplies are really low and if the hurricane wipes the refineries out (which there apparently is a good chance of that happening) then the gas supply will be really little. i guess %42 of americas fuel comes from these refineries.

Yesterday gas here was around $3.49 a gallon...But this morning gas here is around six bucks a gallon i guess (a customer just told me). On the way to work it was $4.09 a gallon... 2 dollars in 4 hours.... everyone is all freaking out.

i'm taking it lightly. i dont drive a lot and i bought $200 worth of food last night, so its not like ill run out of food and have to pay like $10.00 for a loaf of bread or anything right now.

it's just weird how this is happening. Please pray that the hurricane doesnt ruin the oil places so no major damage is done to the economy of the south, because if it gets bad down there (in the gulf) it wont be long (days) until the rest of the country feels the impact as well.

In other news, im getting a present tomorrow and i cant wait!
