Hoshi's quarters, September 26, 2149
It was rare to for Hoshi to get non-electronic mail these days. So when she got back to her quarters and found ten small envelopes waiting for her, it got her attention. The cards inside the envelopes were even more surprising. Each of them wished Hoshi a happy anniversary.
"Anniversary of what?" she asked herself. She wasn't aware of any significance to today's date and there wasn't anything that she would celebrate this month. For a moment, she wondered if it had something to do with Hurley, but she had her doubts. There was no reason to celebrate any sort of anniversary if he was lost to her for good.
Somehow, her plans to stay in tonight no longer seemed appealing. Hoshi tossed the cards in the recycling bin and headed back down the corridor. With any luck, she could persuade one of her neighbors to accompany her to the bar. She really needed a drink.
