If I have a philosophy in life it's 'This too shall pass': both good and bad are temporary so don't take the good in life for granted and don't fret to much about the bad. This too shall pass. I'm not always successful at this, but I try.

jfs has posted the fable behind the phrase, and so I thought I'd share. It's a lovely story.
