DEATH NOTE PERMISSIONS POST
Even though Light won't be getting this back for a while, his Death Note is probably going to be the biggest regain he'll end up receiving, and the most powerful weapon in his arsenal. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, the Death Note is a notebook that allows for Light to kill victims almost instantaneously, simply by writing down their name. The rules of the Death Note can be found here, but to sum it up, here are some of the most important rules:
There's plenty more rules, but this notebook has the power to make things really hax, really quickly. That's why I'm putting up a permissions post now, rather than later, to see whether or not it's cool that Light can kill your character or manipulate him or her in any way.
On the topic of manipulation, Light is shown to be an incredibly smooth talker and puppetmaster. He'll likely make a few good friends when he first arrives in Mayfield, but when he gets his notebook back, he'll remember being Kira and you might notice that something's a little bit... different about his personality. Basically, he'll be much more ready to manipulate people and push them around (subtly, of course), but I understand that this has a bit of negative potential as well.

- When writing a name in the notebook, Light needs to both know their real name and have their face in mind while writing. Therefore, people who share the same name will not be affected.
- If the cause of death is written within forty seconds of writing down the name, it will happen (assuming, of course, that it makes logical sense).
- But if the cause of death isn't specified, the victim will simply die of a heart attack.
- After writing the cause of death, follow-up details have to be written down within about 6 minutes, 40 seconds.
- One page taken from the notebook, or even just a fragment of a page, will have the same effect. (Meaning that he can hide bits and pieces of the notebook on person if he needs to kill while on the go).
- The implement being used to write down names can be anything, including blood, so long as it's legible.
