GENERAL
[Name:] Ema Skye

[Marital Status:] Single
[Sexuality:] Straight, and so not looking, thanks.
[Occupation:] Student/ Forensic Scientist (in training)
CONNECTIONS
[Family:] Lana Skye is Ema's only immediate family still alive and well. An unfortunate automotive accident left Ema and her older sister orphaned while she was young- leaving it up to Lana to raise the girl.
Their relationship became strained at one point however, during the SL-9 Incident and the following two years. For reasons unbeknown to Ema, Lana became distant... and even more so than bearing witness to a murder, this weighed down heavily on the girl. The stress on the sister's relationship continued until late February, 2017, Lana was charged with the murder of Bruce Goodman. With help, Ema fought for her sister's innocence, knowing her not to be the killer, hurt and confused, but undeterred by the older woman's insistence to leave it be.
When the long covered truth finally shown through, and Lana's singular intentions to keep Ema safe were revealed, the mixed feelings Ema harbored were immediately pushed to the side- simply overjoyed just to have her sister back.
As time progressed, Ema's support and loyalty to her sister would prove not to fade. Though, despite working hard to strengthen their bond, there are times Ema may brood... and feel the need to stay first and foremost within her sisters personal affairs. Acting more or less as a single child-type to the woman, and after all that they have gone through together, Ema is leery of "sharing" her sister-- though not at all in an open manner.

Phoenix Wright: Though at first she may have been disappointed in finding Mia's successor and not the woman herself, Ema quickly grew attached to Phoenix. Though her life sent her in a different direction after the events of State vs Skye, she has not forgotten his help or friendship, as without it she would have lost her only remaining family...
As for the disbarment, she does not buy it at all. With her a grudge against forgery held so dear and near to her heart, she doesn't believe for a second that Phoenix would conjure such a thing.
Miles Edgeworth: From a young girl, Ema has positively idolized the prosecutor. Even when he was the head prosecutor of the case against her sister, Ema's fan-girlish admiration wasn't deterred- in fact, it continued to steadily grow towards what some may consider endearingly obsessive (as in, scientifically following his footsteps for the chance to say hello). One day soon, she is dead set on working riiiight beside Edgeworth as a scientific investigator.
Dick Gumshoe: Another character who Ema, despite their involvement on the opposite side of the fence in her sister's case, grew to taking a great liking too. His help, despite putting his own job and livelihood on the line left another big impression on Ema. And though she's not at all interested in his chosen field, and she is not taken with him as really the best of role models, she values him as a friend and future coworker.

[Enemies:]
Damon Gant: The worst kind of man. After time, Ema could understand her sister's desperation to protect her little sister at all costs- Lana's would-be sacrifice, however painful it would have been, would have been for Ema's sake. Damon Gant acted upon purely selfish impulses, ruining the careers and well-being of many, and resulting in the death of yet another. Because of Gant, Ema has a deep loathing for forged evidence, or lies and deceit in general.
Gant's is a presence that Ema simply wishes to be gone. The last dark cloud over her family's life that needs to be blown away.

Angel Starr: Not particularly who Ema would consider a friend, but not a mere acquaintance either. Ema holds a certain amount of admiration for Angel, and is consistently amazed by the other woman's ability to hold so many boyfriends at once (not to mention her former title as well). Ema recognizes Angel as just one more person who's life was brutally thrown off course because of Gant's (and regrettably her own sister's) actions, and as a result, feels guilt due to her own involvement.
Jake Marshall: Prior to the SL-9 case, Ema harbored a somewhat childish, though mild disliking for Jake- entirely thanks to his romantic involvement with her sister. Much has changed of course since then, and mainly Ema feels the same sort of guilty regret about Marshall as she does Angel. Unlike the others, he not only lost his job, but his family- the worst of any one of Ema's fears.
Kay Faraday: Though their time together was brief, it was certainly spent during a time-worthy cause! (You could almost say... Edge-worthy hur hur.) At first, she wasn't really sure what to make of all the, you know, stealing and such, but that's been clarified now and paling around with the other girl sounds like it could be chock full of (science-y) fun.
Klavier Gavin: A stupid, selfish, incorrigible fop. Ema wouldn't want to give him the satisfaction of calling him an "enemy" let alone a friend at this point.
As first boyfriends and relationships go, this one had started off well, and, dare she say it? Ema had even been excited at the prospect of having him meet Lana even. Needless to say, when he took off to America, those thoughts were banished forever and all time.
Apollo Justice: For a freshmen, he's not that bad of a kid. She enjoys chatting with him, and the fact that he idolizes both the law and Mr. Wright is a pretty cool bonus.
CHARACTER
[General personality:] Ema likes science. A lot.
She lives towards building her career, (sometimes) with obsessive, completely single-minded determination. She'll never skip a beat in finding some way to incorporate her passion into her daily life, even when the situation really doesn't quite call for it (at all).
Over time, Ema has developed a much shorter sense of patience for the things that bother/annoy her, and in recent times finds the tendency to even lash out physically (an example being throwing snacks or small objects) hard to resist.
Though she may seem easily impressed or excited, in reality, it is a select few that can really get her on a roll.
[Appearance:] Since her stay in Europe, Ema has adopted a sort of trendy Mod look, complete with striped stockings and a poofy sort of cap. She has, of course, not lost her super trendy and absolutely functional tinted glasses though, or her lab coat at that.
[Background:] After the air settled between her sister, Ema chose to study abroad for nearly two years- mainly in part to work on a new, fresh start for herself and Lana while they each tried to piece their lives together. During a visit back home though in March of 2019, Ema had been teetering on the edge of deciding to pack her bags and return for good- intent on finishing her last bit of school at home and then straight on to her investigative exams-- Something she would have discussed with her BOYFRIEND before actually taking action on though.
Despite how miserable the circumstances were that made her decision final, she's -happy- to be home and back with everyone who's ever mattered to her.
