[Scene: Ema and Klavier in: Homecoming]

May 19, 2010 15:27

Takes place this evening, around 7pm after Ema's flight lands.

"I'll say the lines from dark until light...

Ema: *Maybe if she knew there would be someone waiting to meet her, Ema would have walked the ramp from plane back to the gate with a smile. As it was, she just looks simply tired- purse slung over her shoulder, and a rolling luggage bag dragging behind her.*

Klavier: *Little did Ema know, but someone was waiting to meet her at the gate. She hadn't asked, but in Klavier's opinion, she had as good as, by sharing the details of her flight. He stood, looking particularly styling this evening, outside the gate-- waiting for his girlfriend with open arms.*

Ema: *When she finally steps off the ramp she heaves a sigh, eyes closing in a brief moment of private disappointment.*

Ema: *But when they open, and land directly on Klavier, she stops dead in her tracks- looking very much like a deer in headlights.*

Klavier: Schatzi! *runs up to Ema, reaching for her hand* How was your flight? iFly has such good service, ja?

Ema: *Ever so slowly her expression clouds as Klavier speaks to her, before turning into a full blown scowl* What are you doing here? *A second, and then she's retracting her hand from his reach with a sharp jerk* I didn't tell you I was flying in!

Klavier: *His own joyful expression slowly slides off his face at this reaction* ...But you posted it on the LA feed on Livejournal, ja? I wanted to surprise you...

Klavier: *tucks his thumbs into his chains, awkwardly* I... take it you did not see my video for you, either?

Ema: *Her scowl falters* ... Video? What video? *furrows her brows* In any case... congratulations. You've surprised me.

Klavier: Oh, you've read about my successes here? *smiles hopefully* Ja, ja, the video. I am getting over being sick, and I sang a little... well, sort of a love song, for you, to get back in the swing of performing.

Ema: What are you even talking about? *She huffs, and pushes past him with her shoulder, suitcase in tow.* You didn't even try to contact me after you left. I don't buy it.

Klavier: *Understanding flashes across his face as he falls back to accommodate the shove* --Oh, you mean...

Klavier: *tags after Ema* Das tut mir Leid. I have been too busy settling in, I forget to check MyFace... I've missed you?

Ema *scoffs, and hikes her purse a little higher up her shoulder* That's a laugh, Klavier. Really. Because I don't remember you being all that upset about leaving me behind in the first place.

Klavier: *bites his lip* It was such a big opportunity, schatzi... All I could think about was that. I mean, I left even my own mother behind, for this great opportunity. I was so excited I didn't have time to be sad... and I knew our goodbye was not forever. You are here now...

Ema: Bollocks. *she glances over her shoulder, narrowing her eyes* I bet anything that if I hadn't come back from Spring Break when I did, you would have taken off without so much as an *lowers her voice mockingly* "Oh ja, und before I forget auf wiedersehen schatzi it was fun."

Klavier: *The impersonation of him throws him off guard, and he stands there with his mouth hanging open for a moment* ...........

Klavier: Y-you forgot my last sentence. It was fun-- und ich liebe dich!

Ema: *Flushes* That... that doesn't excuse everything else you jerk! Is your English broken again? You don't say "it was fun" to your girlfriend! Y-you say that to a one nightstand!

Ema: *When people turn to watch her shouts, her blush intensifies, and she lowers her voice* I would have been fine with it, Klavier. But you totally ditched me.

Klavier: *peers around at the witnesses, because it's easier than looking at Ema just then* Ah... at least the locals know I'm taken, now...

Klavier: Das tut mir Leid. That was in poor taste. But I did not mean to ditch you. I... was making a new home, where your home is.

Ema: ... *folds her arms, frowning* I just don't buy it, Klav. *disappointment creeps at the edges of her tone, but she stands her ground* Even if it wasn't my city, you still would have taken off just the same.

Klavier: But the point is... it is your city. Your utterly amazing city, where I can be a rock star, and a lawyer, and a lover... *lays his hands on her shoulders* Couldn't we start again here?

Ema: *Her lips press into a thin line, as her glare flickers between his hands to his face* Speaking realistically for a second, you know things aren't going to be the same... right? The odds of me ever just forgetting you ran out are at about .5% right now, got it? You... you'd be on probation, if anything.

Klavier: *cracks a jaunty smile* So long as you don't tell my friends at the office that I am on probation. I don't want them to get the wrong idea, ja?

Ema: *Rolls her eyes* What makes you think I'll be there to visit you? *She shrugs a shoulder, but doesn't outright dislodge his hand*

Klavier: ...You know somebody else in the High Prosecutors' Office?

Ema: *Finally, she cracks a smirk of her own, and smugly pushes a lock of hair back over her shoulder* Like I said, this is my city, Klavier. I've been deeply involved with that office since I was a little girl. You've met Mr. Edgeworth already, I'm guessing?

Klavier: --Ja, ja. How foolish of me. Your sister was chief prosecutor for a year or two, ja? *he squeezes her arms-- a slow caress at first, but at the mention of Edgeworth, he gives her shoulders an excited little shake* Herr Edgeworth? Ja, ja. His office is right next door to mine. He has taught me so much more than my official mentor...!

Ema: Buh- *She blinks at the shake, and a very minor part of her is slightly put out by the reveal, but she recovers quickly enough* G-Good! He's so cool like that... *a brief, wistful sigh*

Klavier: He is the coolest! The way he commands the court is just... He is zehr impressive. *grins* And he counseled me on the eve of my first trial-- which I won with a vengeance! *He runs a hand down her arm to catch her hand* Doesn't care for my music, but I am soundproofing the office so he is cool.

Ema: You've had your first trial already? That was pretty quick. *Frowns briefly down at their hands, before starting to walk again* Oh, that's good about the office though- he has very refined tastes! Your music would be way too gaudy for him.

Klavier: Ja, ja. I spent a month watching Herr Lee Shore playing games and calling defence attorneys "noobs" before I put my foot down, and achtung, I have my first trial!

Klavier: ...My music is what?

Ema: *Ignoring the latter* Ugh, I hate people who actually use that word. So you won, huh? What kind of trial was it? Petty misdemeanor or something to start you off easy? *Smirks again, albeit playfully this time*

Klavier: *laughs, and gives Ema's hand a gentle shake* You know me better than that, schatzi. It is not my style to start smile. No, my first case was rocking on so many levels. It was a murder trial, and both the defendant and the victim were celebrities-- members of Troupe Gramarye. *waves his hands broadly, taking Ema's hand with one of them* And as if that weren't big enough, I shot down the defence attorney trying to pass off forged evidence!

Ema: *A weird knot begins to form in the pit of her stomach, but she chalks it up to jet lag beginning to catch up with her. She squeezes his hand in return once they've both lowered, raising her eyebrows* Oh, I've heard of them before, sure! Shows me for slacking off on checking in on LA news affairs... So who was the defense?

Klavier: Oh ja, it hasn't gone international. The original Gramarye, Magnifi, was shot by his disciple Zak-- otherwise known as Shadi Enigmar.

Klavier: As for the attorney-- he was some local big shot named Phoenix Wright. The bar took away his badge...

Ema: *She stops dead in her tracks, sending a few travelers behind her maneuvering out of the way with a grumble*

Ema: You... They did WHAT!? *She throws her arms up- and still holding onto Klavier's hand, she clocks him solidly on the side of the head in the process*

dumb fops, scene, ilu mr. edgeworth
