Gay pride parades would be perfectly acceptable (in our current modern/liberal society, that is) if they were actually celebrating a community (regardless of their reasons for forming that community), but that doesn't seem to be the case here. They seem to just serve as a platform for individuals, regardless of sexual orientation, to express/exploit themselves in the most outrageous way possible, and to try and force people to accept their behavior no matter how insane it may be.

All special interest groups try and force people to accept their ideals despite their numbers to a certain extent, and I believe it is a huge problem but, again accepting the reality of our modern/liberal society, I feel sorry for the old school gays who maybe want to create something special with their community, rather than having deluded and confused partiers co-opt their values and history. They're getting screwed big time as this behavior really harms their credibility.

Perhaps it's not a sensible/realistic culture to grow in the first place, point is they'll never know if they continue to support these senseless celebrations. The gays need to form their protestant church of gayness, break away from the corrupt metro/hedonist establishment and create something meaningful!
