to start off,
happy new year.
hopefully, this will be better than the last.

secondly,
chinese food.

so.. .john, liz and i are chillin' out downtown trying to take pictures of cool things on a horrible day for lighting, when we give up and head for liz's. after wasting hours chillin out thinking of something awesome to do, we come up with nothing and it's time for dinner. liz claims she wants sandwiches and i claim i do not. so it's settled that john and i get chinese food and she stays at home and eats sandwiches by her lonesome.

the sesame chicken i order is horrible. i however, not enjoying confrontation, don't say anything about it when the waitress comes over and asks, "is everything alright?" .. later, though, i realize that i don't want to pay for my meal if i've eat 2 and a half pieces of breaded gross chicken so john goes up and complains for me.

they flat out refuse to give me any of my money back.

"what's wrong with it?" the lady asks.
"the meat's pretty fatty and all around kind of gross tasting."
"but it's breaded chicken. that's what it says on the menu."
"but can't you see, she hasn't eaten any of it."
[lady wanders over to the table to investigate how much i've eaten]
[lady disappears into the kitchen, where she proceeds to have a huge discussion with the kitchen staff about what to do]
[she comes back holding the menu]
"see? it says here. breaded chicken with broccoli in a sesame sauce" [points]
"i'm not disagreeing with what's in the meal. i'm just saying it's horrible."
[discussion, discussion]
verdict: no money back.

they received a horrible tip and i'm never going back.

in other news,
we pull out of the parking lot and as john asks,
"do we turn left here?"
i think and go, "no .. [pause, while i think more, then.. ] YES!"
so sharp left turn and BAM!!!
hit in the back left by a ford focus.
john's car is officially totalled.

i'd post pictures but i don't have them.
i feel horrible though.

fuckin' chinese food.

[[edit]] above picture is a strategically placed thumb to cover up the fact that we only almost finished the puzzle.
before we broke each other's hearts.
