Church Concert

So, the concert in Albany. It almost didn't happen. Abby called earlier and was like "yea I can't go" so I begged and begged Tara to go and she asked her mom, and her mom, being the awesome lady she is, said yes. So we went and it turns out Devin, Matt, Josh (Kelly), and Richard were all going too. I hated the venue. It was next to some church... store front church. Like, it was part of the church. It was also way too nice for a concert venue. We all know the best shows take place in the shittiest places. Instead of selling beer, they sold butterfingers. All the kids looked kind of fiesty too. Sooo the show started and the first band was superb (so was their lead guitarist... yeow!) The second band sounded all hardcore and stuff so Devin and Matt and Josh and Richard kinda looked at each other and just started pushing each other violently (aka moshing) and this huge circle cleared out on the floor. Then all the hardcore dancers joined in with their dancing that kind of reminds me of those monkey mating rituals I've seen on the Discovery Channel.

Anywho, Devin, Matt, Josh, and Richard all quit moshing and started "hardcore dancing" which wasn't really hardcore dancing at all... more like making fun of them intensely. I don't think the true dancers caught on until they did this whole riverdance thing across the pit. THEN the hardcore dancers figured out that they were being mocked and one got really mad and got all up in Devin's face. They were tired of dancing anyway (apparently it's very hard on the body) so they just kind of stood there. This little bald guy tried to start moshing and the same hardcore dancer that got in Devin's face got him in a headlock and was choking him. I swear, that guy was looking for a fight and he was going to get one and it wasn't going to be pretty.

Well, the first band and Chasing Victory were pretty much the only bands I really liked. All bands had their amps turned up WAY too loud and my ears are STILL buzzing. The boys all liked the third band best. We headed home and Austin amused Tara and me with really hilarious stories (The best one being about the time he had to go to a mental hospital because they were trying to figure out which medication he needed to be on. His roommate called him Satan and masturbated all night while Austin either cried under his sheets or tried to read Harry Potter with a flashlight.) I ended up spending the night with Tara.

Yesterday I tutored Shiv and went to the dress rehearsal at church. Then I came home and I felt like watching Forrest Gump, so I called Hannah and she came over to watch it with me (because she had never seen that movie!!!) I hadn't watched it since I was about 10 so I didn't really remember how great it was, and I didn't understand a lot of it back then either. So maybe it's better that Hannah waited until she was 17 to see it? To all of you reading this, if you have ever seen the movie, read the book too. The movie is sad and really good, and the book is flat out hilarious. The two are nothing alike.

Today I plan to go tutor Shiv, then go to the movies with my mom and Eli, then go to the mall to get an outfit for Friday! I'm going to go get dressed now.
