Scowling, Suzie looked up from the object she'd been working on to find Jack scowling back. Briefly, she wondered how long he'd been standing there. “Very... respectable.”
“Good, wouldn't want to embarrass Lethbridge-Stewart on his big day.”
“I'm sure you won't.”
“Not that I'm allowed in the Palace-”
Only half listening, she nodded, already turning back to her work as he headed for the exit.
“-not after last time.”
Before Jack had interrupted her, she'd been on the verge of a breakthrough, she was sure. Now, she had nothing.
