Facelift and icons

They're all gorgeous but I especially love the Doctor Who LIMS ones, and in particular #2. They don't know what they're missing out on :-)

in the first batch, #2 is just weird looking(not in a bad way, but in a "i have to stare at this" way)

Oh, yay, your icons! They're so pretty! whocaststills #7 is stunning - I was wowing over it before I scrolled down far enough to see your award banners.

The doctor who lims are really beautiful, too.

People like what they like *shrugs*. Myself, I could not see much to like, technically, in either of the images that got people's or mod's choice this week.
It has given me the opportunity to ask about putting text onto icons though because I am not so good at that. Text icons I can do. Image icons with text? Not so much...

That was always my biggest problem, too. I would spend inordinate amounts of time experimenting with font, size, and placement, not to mention text effects to try and make it look clearer or whatever. Text on images is really hard!

I can make it legible I just have no skill at making it 'meaningful' or 'snappy' or whatever it is people need it to be... Which you'd think I'd be able to manage what with all the pared down drabbles I write :(
