Well, it was a small event, but it was still fun. Sylvanista said it rained really hard Friday eve around 6ish, just to punish those who showed up early. Her tent had flooded. Apparently Clan just doesn't want to let go. It also rained Saturday eve, probably around 5-ish. People continued to ditch.
I ended up getting what should have been my 4th rose, but Harry and Sponge never got awards in the books; eh, no biggy. It's good to get recognized. Luna also got her 3rd, as well as accepting FT's offer to be a Wardancer petitioner. He also, finally, personally spoke to me about the same, and asked that I give it serious consideration, which I will.
Abi got her Baroness title... that was cool. I was happy that happened.
I took Paulie, my ball python (formerly Luna's ball python) to the event. He was very popular, and helped no less than four people either overcome, or begin to overcome, their fears of snakes. Kristin, you might want to warn Cody that Quinn quickly grew quite fond of Paulie, after taking a little bit to get over his fear. Maybe you can still manage to get a snake for yourself out of this. ;)
Ah, the drive home. Luna drove most of the way, making it into San Marcos. By that point she was too tired to continue on, so I took over. Somewhere around Shertz or Selma, we finally discovered what had been causing her car to wobble, when the right rear tire tread separated from the rest of the tire. And I mean, it shredded like the diesel tires shred. It also managed to take out the section of her bumper right behind that wheel. Talk about being wide awake for the rest of the drive home. In many ways, I'm glad it happened at 2am, because there were very few cars on the highway at the time. We had the spare on and were back on our way in no more than 30 minutes, if even that.
Oh yeah, pics:
