02: Hellooooo nurse

Apr 08, 2010 19:49

Okay. I can put up with the sexist remarks from a good portion of the people here. I can deal with having to do all of these chores. I can even deal with not talking about religion.

But really, a nurse? Are the men here really so blind that they can't stand to see a woman doing a better job in the ER then themselves?

sexism sucks, wtf is this, new to town, i'm a doctor not a _____

Sexist? [She sounds like she doesn't know what that is.]

When men think they're better than women just because they're a man.

... but that doesn't make any sense.

What doesn't make sense about it?

What does being a man have to do with it?

Because it's the idea that men are better just because they're men. It's a very flawed idea, but some people think like that.

... it is really flawed... I don't know why some people have to be better than others, anyway. [People are people, right?]

It's just how life is. Some people can't feel good about themselves unless they're putting someone else down.

[She makes a little sound, just a simple sigh, though she sounds sad and, somehow, small.] I see.

[For some reason, she's having trouble relating to this. She thinks of Saïx and the way he treated her, but... it's not like he didn't have a good reason to think of her as less than a person.]

[awwww poor Xion. The quiet on the end of the line makes Ayako think that Xion knows what this kind of treatment is like.]

But even though some people think that's how it is, it doesn't make it right.

... no, I guess not. But that doesn't stop them.

No, it doesn't. But luckily there are other ways to stop them.

[For some reason, she thinks of Xemnas now. She knows it's not really relevant to what they're talking about, but she can't help it.]

Like what? [She wonders if this woman knows other things than just... fighting and dying, which were really the only options she was taught.]

Polite resistance, for one.

[Xion tries to imagine using "polite resistance" against Saïx.]

Anything else?
