so you know how i lost my cell phone by leaving it on top of my car and driving away? well, my mom had been missing her car keys for a few days now and was going crazy not being able to find them. today, however, she's driving on kirby when all of a sudden the car in front of her stops, and she has to break like mad to avoid getting in a wreck. guess what falls in front of her window from on top of her car when she breaks?? her keys!!!!!!! hahahaha oh me oh my. it's in the genes i guess.
in other news, the tennis match today was so cool weather-wise. 6th period it pours for 5-10 minutes, so we go out to the courts and they're drenched. By 4, however, the sun is out and it is way humid, so the courts dry up quickly, and we get to play. we get through singles (I beat my girl 10-1!), but when doubles starts, a little drizzle falls. all of a sudden, we HEAR this incredible downpouring of rain, but all that's happening is a drizzle where we are. All of us are just poised on the courts, confused, when the bottom just drops out of the sky and it POURS. Girls scream, you can't see anything because of the sheets of rain, everyone's running to and fro...it was hilarious. Made my day. I just wish I had a camcorder to record it. From the clear skies to the crazy downpour it was probably just a span of 3 minutes.
it makes me sad to hear so many people are unhappy. that blows, people. i think we all just take some things too seriously and need to lighten up. let's have fun! seniors, this is our last year of childhood, really. i know a lot of you are dying to get out of here, but time doesn't fly by just by wishing it, so at least try to make the most of these long days. if your activities make you unhappy, drop them. if you find you're doing things out of obligation and not because you want to be doing them, that's unhealthy. i would know. if your classes are killing you, you can switch out! we've only completed two weeks of school. heck, i'm a guidance assistant 1st period, that's the way to go haha. otherwise, learn to deal with the workload. figure out a schedule to get everything done, and learn to deal when you dont finish. remember the pareto principle. make time for the friends that make you happy. don't spend time with the people who just make you feel bad about yourself or who cause more problems than anything else in your life.
too many seniors are like "oh,just until second semester, just until second semester..." why wait until then? don't procrastinate on being happy and doing what you want. and i'm not saying stop doing work--you have to keep doing work. but work is something you'll have to do your whole life, so it's better to learn now how to balance work and happiness.
