So, I ended up staying over at my friend Gary's house last night. We went for a little walk first to ASDA and I bought some pasta salad for my dinner, some choc mint icecream and a bottle of coke and a small flask of vodka. Then we progressed to Blockbuster where we spent a good half an hour searching for a good movie to rent (which trust me was difficult considering there was hardly any movies to actually rent) :s but in the end we settled for 'The Curse of El Charro' which looked like one of the more decent films there (or so you'd think). Heh, anyhow, we then went back to Gary's house and I ate my salad and watched TV...urm, that was about it. Then we went for another walk over Halton View and down to Sunny Bank before walking all the way back. We spotted Nicola K and her boyfriend walking their dog on the way back home too, which was surprising as we've seen them on two occasions in the past week or so (once at the Krazyhouse last Saturday) and then last night, heh. Maybe they're following us *shifty eyes* heh. Nah, I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation. So then we walked back and watched that film.
Now at first, it started off looking pretty intriguing, artistic and mysterious...and would've actually turned into a pretty decent film if it hadn't of been for the horribly clichéd teen cast who all came across as being as bland and more predictable than dirty dish water. That's what I didn't like about it because it soon degenerated into a terribly low-budgeted American piece of trailer trash with no narrative. It became quite obvious halfway through when the whole plot/background was given away in a series of subtitled clips and images *groans* oh dear. That gave away any sense of mystery straight away when we found out she had been cursed through her bloodline and that she was forever doomed...it was quite obvious to all and sundry how this one was going to end...urgh. It was terribly predictable with an even worse ending. Towards the end it even took on an Exorcist/Night of the Living Dead style twist in the tale with added guardian angel soppiness. Whatever. *Groans*. The only thing that was even slightly redeeming about the whole movie was the lesbian shower scene between the hot looking goth girl and her compadre &even that reeked of cheap thrills and desperation. Never again. Can you say Cheesseeeeeee?
I didn't get home until the afternoon by which time I had a nice cup of tea and yes, that's about it. I've started work on my new poem, aptly titled. Although I don't want to confirm anything just yet, you can probably expect to see it up on here within a few days, or whenever it gets finished. Yay. It's turning out pretty good, but I don't want to sound bigheaded so I'll let you be the judge of that soon.
Oh and I'm not particularly looking forward to tomorrow, even if it is a Bank Holiday. As no post comes, I haven't got much else to do except sign forms and send them off. Urgh. Tomorrow night however, I will feel different. I hope.
