Kyo at home
After yesterday's false alarm when everyone was here and I had someone to take picutres, Kyo arrived today while I was home alone. I thought about waiting until para-chan or ancatsidhe was around to take photos, but I will be leaving for the dentist about the time para-chan gets here. I couldn't wait. So I took my own photos, and I'm pretty happy with them.
He's hanging out in the "I need a wig" wig that every doll seems required to wear when first arriving. Both of his pairs of eyes arrived (the second pair today), and it's a good thing I ordered 2. His eyes are too wide for 16mm eyes, so he's wearing the bigger ones. And I like them.
The previous owner had begun esthetics on him, and when he found out that he had a buyer did a quick job of completing them. I was under the impression that he hadn't parted the toes at all, but it runs out he parted the toes (or most of them) on one foot but not the other. And he's filthy. I'm not sure if it's because he was wrapped in newsprint or because he hasn't been sealed or what. So, tomorrow while para-chan is doing her thing, I'll be taking him apart, cleaning him, figuring out how to finish parting his toes, brushing up the sanding, and deciding whether or not to emove his face-up. It's not a bad face-up, but they colored his entire head (except for the head cap) in a color that is a couple of shades darker than his resin, and it's really obvious. He's going to need eyelashes, too.
The other thing he'll need is to be restrung. He's kicky as hell and wouldn't stand right now if his resin depended on it. But he's here and I'm happy with him and I can buy him a wig when I go to LA next month. And it seems that he's adopted the penguin that Sterling stole from me.
