A few days ago I found out about the really cool
Amazon S3 service from another site that uses it called
S3 Backup, a off-site backup solution.
The really cool thing about S3 is the cheap storage and data transfer prices. What's even more cool is that it is just the basic building blocks for storage (i.e. you can store any object you want on there) so a developer can build just about any application on top of it. Amazon has a list of solutions using its service, from online backup solutions to photo sharing websites, and even "
the first environmentally responsible computer"!
I wonder if I'll be able to pull myself away from other things to try this out.
Service oriented architecture. Like my company's CEO says, the future is web services. Maybe I should familiarize myself with that technology as that's where the future is.
